About this audiobook
She thought the demons were in her head… until the night they attacked.
Ryn Tyler didn’t intend to kill a demon when she moved to Eagle Valley—or to become the hero of a divine race of angels. She just wants to be a normal teenager, but fate has other plans.
As she prepares to attend Galen High, a magical school for angels, Ryn navigates a complicated relationship with Marek, the guy who can’t stop saving her life. But Marek knows more about Ryn’s magic than he’s letting on.
Only Ryn has the power to stop this age-old war. But there’s a demon in Eagle Valley who wants that power for himself—and if Ryn wants to survive, she’ll have to fight back.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5As a general rule I dislike YA. But all my suggestions were YA so here I am. First off its a pretty typical plot structure. MC is part of the chosen few and special and also hot love interest. About my least favorite plot structure.
Making it far worse however is the laziness. I hoped there might be some gnostic lore being used here but nope. 'Angels and demons' have nothing to do with the story or setting. Those are just co-opted names to use for generic glowy light special people vs the generic shadowy special people.1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Couldn’t finish and I wasn’t even reading it myself it was read TO ME. I generally push through even though I don’t seem interested in a book but it was to much. The female leads personality was borderline nauseating. One min she’s brave and strong and the next meek and whiny. She pushed back at the wrong people and it just didn’t sit/flow right for me. I could only get through like 9 (maybe) chapters…

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Information overload! Wow there was a lot to digest BUT it was worth it! I am sucked into this world and can't wait - I may not be in my teens anymore but WOAH talk about teenage angst! Can't wait to see how each character matures and for more showdowns between light and dark!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Very much a young adult book with the same teenage formula. 'Special" girl meets tortured boy that connect on a different level. The group fights bad guys, wins and leaves you needing the next book to find the actual story..
