About this audiobook
Love is a curse when you’re a witch.
Nadine
I thought witches were myth—until I moved to a secret town protected by magic. Turns out I’m a witch, and my powers will awaken on my nineteenth birthday.
I’m sent to a magic academy, where I’ll learn about the coven and prepare to meet our goddess. It’s there that I meet Lucas, a sexy warlock with an attitude. I shouldn’t be attracted to a guy like him, but he’s a puzzle I can’t figure out—and I find that beyond irresistible.
But there’s more on my mind than Lucas. If I don’t pass the goddess’s test to awaken my magic, I’ll be banished from the coven—and lose the only family I have left.
Lucas
I wasn’t supposed to inherit death magic, but here I am. They call me the Reaper’s Apprentice. I’m tasked with carrying the last thoughts of the dead to the afterlife when I die. It’s a burden that grows heavier by the day.
Most thoughts are more depressing than I care to admit… except for one. I don’t know what it means, until Nadine shows up in town. She’s the one ray of hope to an otherwise dark gift, and I quickly find myself falling for her.
But we can’t be together—because there’s a curse upon all reapers, and if Nadine falls for me, she’ll die.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I like the story but not a fan of the narrator

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The story was great, but the narrating was terrible. There were parts skipped over and some with no sound. The male narrator makes all the men in the book sound feminine. Background noise could be heard during the narration as well.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5juvenile writing style but interesting storyline. male narrator makes listening a little cringe.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Story is great and I LOVE disability representation! The male narrator was not good though. His female voices were awful and makes them sound like little girls. He also feminized the main male character voice. It was weird and hard to get past, but the story was good enough that I was able to force myself to ignore it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Brilliant storyline, great hear a leading male, Thank you for highlighting Lupus. I am a sufferer of lupus. Its really good to bring other disabilities into stories.. Can't wait for book 2..
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Fun, but it sounds more like high school than college.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I couldn't finish it. The premise is interesting but by around hour 4 the book starts its descent into uncomfortable horny. I have given up at hour 6 because the horny level has become unbearable. I enjoyed the plot up to what I listened to but unless you can withstand what I can only describe as wattpad levels of horny i don't suggest it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I have never read a book about witches that I related to more! I can’t even articulate how awesome it is to see this kind of representation in fantasy!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I really like the story, but the male narrator is so horrible and makes the story hard to listen to. He talked great when reading Lucas’s thoughts, but then he makes him talk like a girl and believe me his girl voices are no picnic either!
