About this audiobook

He can take her anywhere her heart desires, but she can bring him to his knees with the gentle flick of her finger.

When the tragic death of her father brings Addison MacKenna back to the town where she was born, she can't understand the strange sensations that have begun to consume her. Plagued with nightmares of her father's sudden and brutal death, Addie struggles with her anguish and refuses to believe that his demise was accidental.

But that's not the only thing Addie struggles with.

Caught up in the horrors of her latest nightmare while driving to work one day, she's startled beyond comprehension when she almost runs down a man standing in the middle of the road. A gorgeous, stunning man she can't seem to take her mind or her eyes off of. All of a sudden, the impossible seems possible, and it's not clear whether that's a blessing or a curse.

Cael Sheridan may be arrogant and mysterious, but he's also undeniably gorgeous. A member of a secret society, he is sworn to protect the woman he believes to be the daughter of his recently murdered mentor. In the process, he finds it impossible to resist her magnetic sensuality, complicating his efforts to shield and guide her as she learns to manage her newly acquired skills. He's faced with the tough decision of whether to let her in or sabotage their new relationship in order to keep her safe as well as his own heart.

Fate has brought them together, but will it make them stronger or destroy them in the end?

A supernatural, urban fantasy sure to get your blood running hot, "Ignite the Flame" is the first book in the Whisper Cape series set in a sleepy coastal town along the Oregon Coast.

Susan Griscom

About Susan Griscom I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, spending most of my time daydreaming or playing around in the mud. I grew out of the mud play, well, most of the time, a good soak in the mud is always fun. I still daydream often and sometimes my daydreams interrupt my daydreams. So I write to remember them. If I didn't write, I think my mind would explode from an overload of fantasy and weirdness. To the annoyance of my friends and family, my characters sometimes become a part of my world. During my childhood, I would frequently get in trouble in school for daydreaming. Eventually, my vivid imagination paid off and I had the privilege of writing and co-directing my sixth-grade class play--a dreadful disaster, though not from my writing, of course. I'm pretty sure it was the acting. I enjoy writing about characters living in small quaint towns and tend to lean toward the unusual and edgy. My paranormal playing field delves into a different milieu, abandoning vampires and werewolves, but not discounting them. Someday I might like to write a novel about vamps and those furry creatures. But for now I like the bizarre mixed with romance. A strong hero or heroine confronted with extraordinary forces of nature, powers and capabilities gets my blood running hot, as does a steamy contemporary romantic suspense. I wanted to give it two and a half Stars but I couldn't so I gave it a two.

    Beware : Spoilers ahead.

"I am not writing this review to discourage you from reading this book read. My experience might be different then yours so it is just "read it at your own risk ".

Let me start by saying This book has potential and this book has a nice plot but the World building is not it . The first 6 hours, they went to the cliff bar and grill (her work) her house, the cliffs, and back to the bar and grill ? I get that they're living on the coast in a small town but come on. And story drags on, I didn't know if it was to make the story longer but we have four other books for that. 6 hours for me was 3 days for and they were just meeting, in other stories I would be in the middle of the book by that time. The FMC is a bit childish, and she's a "I can do it myself type of gil" and we love a strong FMC. But she's stubborn and at times really annoying. I get that she's struggling with trauma and the nightmares of her father's murder but; at the same time, MMC just told her that her father was murdered and the guy who murdered him is now after her and he found her because she decided to use her powers in bright daylight. she has superpowers the guy wants . And the MMC also has power and experience. she's about to be killed and he is the only person who is able to protect her and get rid of the other guy but she laughs at at him and keeps calling him arrogant for knowing how to protect her and only two and a half days they knew each other and they hooking up while doomsday is outside their door.

I'm not giving up on this book. This is like the "it's not you, it's me" type of situation, we're going to take some time off and I'll be back and see if it feels any different.
