I came across the author’s name in my Noom program which quoted her.
This book enlightened me about emotional eating. I know this struggle is not within me alone but others are experiencing same. It informed me about dealing with my emotions instead of eating to mask them.
Thank you Geneen. Look forward to reading more of your work.

I read the latest book of the author (Women, Food and God) and was curious about her earlier work. Even though there are some interesting ideas and practices in this book, it still had the discourse of "diet culture" and fatphobia all over it. Therefore it was rather disappointing. I'm glad that Roth moved more and more away from diet culture and fatphobia in her later work - but still, I'd consider this only one step on the way to body acceptance, definitely not the endpoint.
