About this audiobook

Bailey Burke has had a rough six months—it’s not easy thinking your romantic overtures toward your best friend caused him to kill himself. Except that’s exactly what happened. Ryan is very much dead, having shot himself with his own police-issued gun. Guilt and grief shouldn’t cause hallucinations though, but six months after Ryan went into the ground, Bailey is freaking out and swearing his ghost is standing in her kitchen. Which he is…

Ryan claims he didn’t commit suicide, but was murdered, and he needs Bailey to help him find his killer so he can earn his ticket out of purgatory. Ryan’s counting on a stairway to heaven, as opposed to wings, since that might be a little unmanly for a cop, even a dead one.

An expert in home design, with her own staging business, Bailey can tell you where to place a couch to improve flow and comfort, but solving a crime? Not her area of expertise. But with help from Ryan’s former partner, Marner, she is unraveling the mystery of what happened to Ryan that day… and unwittingly putting herself in grave danger.

Well.. it was sort of a fun read, but Ryan is kind of a jerk and Bailey has an unhealthy obsession for him. And the drunk driving? What? The solution came sudden and quick, it felt rushed. The concept was quite fun though, so I will go on and try the next book.

About the titles: I don't get why she chose these, since at least in this book there is zero reference to the original. It doesn't really make sense to me. Like a bad pun.

This is an entertaining, fun read. Bailey and Ryan are interesting, relatable, intriguing, complex, entertaining characters. I enjoyed the mystery and how it played out. There were aspect of the story that were never clarified for me and I’m not sure why they were included.

I enjoyed the audio version of this book and the narrator.

Enjoyable book and narrator. Not a book I’d go out of my way to listen to again but interesting enough to make me move ahead in the series.

Plot had some interest, but couldn't get past chapter 4 due to burnout on the one liners which really slowed down the action. Too much repetition of angst so that the at first likable protagonist became irritating and self absorbed. The book could have used some editing on these issues and it would be much better. But since it was a short book, probably needed the pages.

This is a super fun listen/read. The relationships are great, the story is interesting, and it's worth the read!

It was a very entertaining light read that was not predictable like many light readers are.

This one dragged. It wasn’t my cup of tea. Little chemistry between characters.

    Cute story.

The question of who done it kept my attention throughout. I was also surprised at the answer.

While this genre isn't typically to my taste, I found myself enjoying this book. The characters were likeable enough, and the plot was intriguing. The conclusion however was quite unremarkable. If I could give half stars, it'd likely be 3.5, but as it stands a three is the best I can give. Overall, it is good enough to recommend for fans of the genre but I'm not sure if I will continue with the series at this time.

Cute and a little ridiculous, but it was a nice short read.

Cute story, but I found the ending lacking closure and was pretty disappointed. I also expected more of a love story development.
Well written, but not personally my type of book.

Good job, great job, I really enjoyed the book captivating the whole way throuthanks for really good I don't know so much about the reader I thought her she read her a little fast. I thought her voice was a little bit high a little bit plenty of times but I don't want to be Uber like critical sometimes I am but that's just cause I'm 68 and a lot of leg and I think it
ought to do is set around and listen to books but. That's just me I prefer bear tones but I love the book

Incredibly misogynistic, really gross honestly. In one of the first chapters the main character is talking to one of her clients and can’t stop talking about how jealous she is of her perfect figure, her breasts, her eyebrows, her perfect husband, and then they go off and giggle about h@and jobs and high heels. Also, diet culture was a common theme, and honestlyI couldn’t even force myself to make it all the way through despite it being short. It was just…gross.
