About this audiobook
Salvaging from historic buildings isn’t supposed to require reporting a murder.
When salvage expert and historian Paisley Sutton crawls into an abandoned store with a house attached, she certainly isn’t expecting to find a body on site. But soon, her discovery sends Paisley on an expedition through history that links this murder to the one that led the previous owners to abandon the building in the first place. And someone doesn’t want her to salvage this story from the wreckage.
Can Paisley preserve herself and her young son while also uncovering the stories that matter most?

What our readers think
Readers find this title to have a good story with a nice cozy mystery and well-written plot development. The book explores day-to-day concerns of a single mom and has great narration. However, some readers found it to be preachy and with too many agendas. Despite this, many still enjoyed the book and look forward to listening to the rest of the series.

I liked the story and the characters and the presentation. My only irritation was that the 2-year-old toddler felt more like a 4-year-old - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

Way to much toddler time for the type of book. Way to much sugar for a 2y/o. Also she had great support from a lot if family but thought it was ok too keep her toddler in a car with a cat next to the building that was close to collapse. The mystery was okish - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Nice clean cozy. No s--, no cussing, main character seems to be Christian. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

Good story but had a lot of agendas and tried to teach about subjects and was a little preachy. I happen to agree with that information, but it seemed to be inserted awkwardly. Single-parent struggles were mentioned many, many times. I'll try another book by the author to give her another try. Some things could have been shown instead of said in a literal way. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

I am really enjoying this authors books. I think they are enjoyable to listen to. The narrator readings are amazing. She catches the characters and makes it a real story not just reading the book with her voice changes. Job done well by all involved. Thank you for the hours of entertainment.1 person found this helpful
