About this audiobook
Originally published in four parts this is the full story in one package.
When Hope loses her husband, she fears her happiest days are behind her. With her only connection to London broken, she moves home to York to be near her family and to begin to build a new life.
Taking a job at the antique shop she has always admired, she finds herself crossing paths with two very different men. Will, who has recently become the guardian to his niece after the tragic death of her parents. And Ciaran, who she enlists to help solve the mystery of an Egyptian antique. Two men who represent two different happy endings.
But can she trust herself to choose the right man? And will that bring her everything she really needs?
The brand new novel from Holly Hepburn, author of Coming Home to Brightwater Bay.

'Like the dream pub landlady who always knows exactly what you want, Holly Hepburn has created the most delightful welcome to what promises to be a brilliant series, in the first Star and Sixpence. The sisters are warm and intriguing, the neighbours are (mostly!) friendly and the gossip is utterly addictive. I was very sad when it was time for last orders, and am already looking forward to the next round. Especially if a certain blacksmith happens to be at the bar...' Kate Harrison

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5The lead female was so frustrating! Oh my word. I get the trend to write flawed heroines yet this was just frustrating. The abrupt ending was - well, super abrupt. Ugh. It overshadowed the cozy village feel found in the setting.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Both the story and the narration are very pleasant to listen! The story has very nice plot twists, I enjoyed it very much! Would love to have a more extended epilogue to learn of the heroes story in the long run. Highly recommend.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Would be a great book to be made into a movie
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I love the story, I love the characters, but I always wish that once they hit the climax that they will make a little bit more romance . The romance needs to last a little bit longer instead of ending just as they find each other!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A sweet little story with way too much padding. Still, because I loved the H and his niece so much, I was prepared to give this four stars….until the way-too fast and way-too unromantic way it ended.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such a feel good book with a wonderful story line
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The main character has been very irritating and behaved as a teenager. There were many repetitions in the book which made me suspect that the author is writing for an audience with memory of a gold fish and attention span of a gnat. Nevertheless there were some good points of using my time to listen. Nice descriptions of the surroundings, for example. What saved this audiobook for me was the narrator. If not her I wouldn't have the patience to listen till somehow cliché, stereotyped ending.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A nice little romance to enjoy, curled up with a nice cup of tea.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Loved the story. Heartwarming with enticing characters. A must read.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Very sweet, gentle and while predictable I enjoyed it. The only thing I wish didn’t happen were occasional obvious summaries and repeats of what was happening. But fun read.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I didn't tell at the author once for foolish actions on characters part so excellent
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Was a pleasant read but at times it would do a little summary of a character or what had gone before, as if this was a series and it was doing a recap at the beginning of a new episode even though you had just heard all that. It felt very weird
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A sweet little story, that I feel were in a hurry to publish. The ending was not only expected but was also very simple and had no true emotion.
The first 2 parts were really good and interesting and then it got really boring.
I would say its a little beach read but on the other hand you have so many more options.1 person found this helpful
