About this audiobook
When Lottie Foster’s grandmother’s best friend Gwen dies, she leaves Lottie her lovely home, Cuckoo Cottage.
Lottie loves the cottage but Matt, a charming local builder, points out that beneath its charm it is falling apart. Luckily he is always on hand to help with the problems that somehow seem to keep cropping up. But is he just a bit too good to be true? Certainly Will, Lottie’s closest neighbour, seems to think so.
Lottie plans to set up her own business renovating vintage caravans. She hasn’t told anyone about the project she has cooked up with Jemma from The Cherry Tree Café to repurpose Gwen’s old caravan and turn it into a gorgeous tearoom.
But before she can finally enjoy living with her legacy she must uncover who she can trust, and who to avoid. And with two men vying for her attention, will she also find love?

What our readers think
Readers find this title to be a mixed bag. While many enjoy the characters and setting, some are annoyed by the excessive naivete of the main character. The constant obliviousness and failure to recognize red flags detract from the story. However, the writing is great and the stories are lovely. Overall, it could have been a great story if not for the irritating main character.

I have been binging on Heidi Swain audio books and while the stories are lovely and the writing is great, there is one thing I have come to absolutely abhor. In several of the books the main female character is so excessively naive it's cringey, and detracts from the story.
It seems to be a common theme that there is some glaringly obvious red flag with a swindling and shady supporting character and yet the lead female, like a mindless sheep, continues to fall for every thing that comes out of their mouth. It continues on becoming worse until suddenly in the last chapter or two, the female character finally has an aha moment and realizes that the bad guy was bad all along. She's then shocked and amazed as if the whole storyline hadn't gone about setting the tone for their highly suspicious and questionable motives and behavior.
It's so grating!!!1 person found this helpful

I’m really enjoying that the characters and setting connect. It’s fun revisiting them within each story and learning more about the other characters from book to book. A community. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

This could have been a great story, but the main character is so ridiculously clueless that instead of being entertaining, was completely irritating bordering on infuriating. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

I've become a new fan of Heidi Swain books and have listened back to back. But this had me annoyed. While I'm routing my heroine on to find her perfect love match I am so erked by the constant "oh I rather not say" or "I just won't tell them just yet". There is way too much naivete that I'm like girl get a clue. Someone is trying to pull one over you, why are being so blind chapter's. I almost put this book down several times2 people found this helpful
