Description

This week on the show Amy and Aly share ideas on how to stay safe while biking, running, and open water swimming. The number of cyclist and pedestrian fatalities is rising in the US, and while we can do more gravel riding or trainer riding, what can we also do to keep ourselves safe on the roads? Amy and Aly share some of their own close calls. They talk through ideas like being more visible with bright colors and lights and staying aware and defensive while out on the road. A lot of the biking and running tips overlap, but they also share some run specific tips like running in a populated area or a place you feel comfortable when possible. Aly shares her open water swimming tips like wearing a buoy (like this one), swimming in a group, and staying close to shore. Aly also celebrates her New Year’s Day 10K swim and Amy celebrates her 500k bike challenge. And they close with their Go Mommas of the Week.
