The LSU Tigers had the 101st ranked total defense in all of college football this year. The secondary gave up more yards than nearly every other team in college football. The defense gave up over 700 yards of offense at Ole Miss, over 500 yards at Missouri, and nearly 500 to an Arkansas Razorbacks team that went on to fire their offensive coordinator in the middle of the season after mustering up a measly 3 points at home to Mississippi State. LSU's best defensive player, Harold Perkins, was rendered useless when he was put at inside linebacker or taken off the field in 3rd down situations. The defense was bad and defensive coordinator Matt House needs to be held accountable. For whatever reason, the defense couldn't stop anyone. For whatever reason, House's message was not clicking with the team. For many reasons, House should be relieved of his duties. But does Brian Kelly think so?
Plus, former LSU DB coach Corey Raymond is now on the market. Raymond started his collegiate coaching career at LSU in the mid-2000s and returned as the DBs coach in 2012 where he served through the 2021 season. When Brian Kelly was hired, Raymond left Baton Rouge to follow Billy Napier to Gainesville and assume the role of defensive backs coach for the Florida Gators. After two years of a struggling Gators defense and team, Raymond was relieved of his duties earlier this week. Should LSU consider bringing him back to help a struggling secondary?
