LSU Tigers quarterback Jayden Daniels has won the 2023 Heisman Trophy, becoming the third quarterback in school history to be recognized for the award and the second LSU Tiger in just five seasons to be recognized as the greatest player in college football, just a few years after Joe Burrow won the award for his electrifying 2019 season with the Tigers.
Daniels finished ahead of Washington's Michael Penix Jr., Oregon's Bo Nix, and Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr. in that order in the voting. Daniels and the LSU Tigers had the worst record of all of the finalists, however it was Daniels' monstrous stats, both in the pass and run game, and his overall value to this LSU team that ultimately catapulted him to the best of the bunch. This, of course, is a massive honor for Daniels and a much deserved award for his performance this season.
