Description

LSU football was back out on the practice field on Monday afternoon after taking Sunday off. The Tigers were out on the outside practice fields and the temperatures and humidity were high as they went through the 11 v. 11 period. Words were exchanged between several offensive and defensive players which prompted a fight to break out in practice, including thrown punches. Wide receivers Malik Nabers and Kyren Lacy and linebacker Harold Perkins were asked to leave practice following the altercation.
Sophomore tight end Mason Taylor said Kelly's message to the team following the tussle was a reminder to "always got to respect the brotherhood." Taylor went on to say that emotions run high at the beginning of fall camp.
"It's hot out there, humid, people aren't in their right mind," defensive lineman Sai’vion Jones said. "We need to use that as a pushing tool to help us get to where we need to."
So how should LSU fans feel about the fight that broke out in practice? Was it just an unfortunate but normal aspect of playing a physically taxing and violent sport? Or are there underlying leadership issues that were uncovered today?
