Description
+++ CURIOSITY DIDN'T KILL THIS CAT +++
Adult: "Don't you know that curiosity kills the cat?"
Me: [silence]
I grew up in Jamaica and this is one of the phrases I heard quite often. It was made by people, namely adults, who didn't want to be asked any questions that made them uneasy.
That's my conclusion based upon looking back at the many times I've heard it.
Does this sound familiar? Did you experience this?
Would you believe that having heard this statement so many times, it almost "killed" me?
It almost "killed" me because I stopped being curious.
I'm glad I found out early enough change course. How about you?
In this episode of The Kingsley Grant Show, Dr. Diane Hamilton - an expert on the topic of curiosity - and I, talked about the necessity of curiosity.
