About this ebook

Julia never intended to cheat on her husband, Max, but when the chance came the petite redhead's way, she found confessing her indiscretions had its own advantages. It might not have been the conventional way to spice up their marriage, but it worked.

Max is less than happy when one of Julia's escapades embarrasses him in front of his boss. Julia is contrite and suggests several methods of punishment. She thought Max would choose one… not all of them!

Bridy McAvoy

My name is Bridy, and I live in upstate New York. I’ve written for as long as I can remember, which is thanks to my parents for teaching me to read and write before I went to school. I’ve been fascinated by erotic tales all my adult life, my husband thinks they’re silly but indulges me. I won’t tell you how old I am because a lady never gives away her age. My other interest is photography, but writing will always be my first love, other than my husband of course.

    Julia's Punishment - Bridy McAvoy

    Dedication

To everyone who helped me write this. Especially my husband who encouraged me to explore my fantasies in print.

    Julia’s Punishment

Julia tried hard to look forward through the front windshield of the car as Max drove them home. Despite not wanting to make eye contact, her gaze constantly swiveled to check his face. Max was staring straight ahead too, his face a little flushed, his lips set in a firm line. She could visualize his teeth gritted behind those lips.

She shifted her gaze again, taking in how white his knuckles were as he gripped the steering wheel. Given she usually regarded his driving style, if anything, a bit too relaxed, that alone would have told her how angry he was.

She knew she’d screwed up, and screwed up big-time. The conversation in the restaurant had been strained all evening, even at the points when she hadn’t been embarrassed enough to want the floor to open up and swallow her whole. Yep, no doubt, it was a real FUBAR, and every single bit of it was her fault. Julia had no idea how she was going to make it up to her husband whose anger and frustration was layered with humiliation that must be a mile deep.

She wanted to sob, but she didn’t want him to take his attention off the road. He’d only yell at her. He didn’t lose his temper with her very often—nowhere near as often as she lost hers with him. Now, though, she felt he had pretty good cause. It was all her fault. It had started the previous night.

    * * * *

Friday night, Julia had gone out with every intention of staying sober. She didn’t go out with the girls from the office that often, but it was Josie’s birthday and she couldn’t say no. Andrea, Karen and a couple of others would be there too, and up front they all knew she had to keep a lid on it, and wouldn’t be drinking with them. Saturday, Max was taking her out to dinner with the new hot-shot manager from the East Coast headquarters. He was a high-powered Harvard man, with PhDs and MBAs dripping off his CV. Max thought his job was to trim up some of the divisions, so he wanted to make a good impression.

She hadn’t thought Max’s job was potentially on the line, but Max was keen to strike the right note, so she’d agreed not to step out of line on the alcohol side the night before.

She hadn’t, although her four friends had continually sampled cocktail after cocktail while she drank her lime and soda and joined in the banter. About eleven, the conversation had wound down, and Andrea, Karen and Joanne had headed off to a club. Josie wasn’t in a clubbing mood, and Julia was ready to head home.

    What’s up, girlfriend?

Josie had shrugged. Starting to feel my age, I guess.

Don’t be silly. You’re no older than me. Go after them and party the night away. It’s not like you’ve got anything to do tomorrow.

Nah. Not that much my scene. Anyway, there're two guys at the bar making eyes in our direction.

You want one of them then? Or are you up for both?

    Julia!

Why? Don’t knock it ʾtil you’ve tried it.

I don’t believe you ever have... You have, haven’t you?  And not that long ago? Does Max know? You bitch.

    Whoa!
