Bridy McAvoy

My name is Bridy, and I live in upstate New York. I’ve written for as long as I can remember, which is thanks to my parents for teaching me to read and write before I went to school. I’ve been fascinated by erotic tales all my adult life, my husband thinks they’re silly but indulges me. I won’t tell you how old I am because a lady never gives away her age. My other interest is photography, but writing will always be my first love, other than my husband of course.

    Julia's Revenge - Bridy McAvoy

    Dedication

To everyone who helped me write this. Especially my husband who encouraged me to explore my fantasies in print.

    Julia’s Revenge

Julia looked up from her screen as she sensed someone standing next to her desk. Andrea smiled down at her. Julia did a quick double-take. It was rare indeed for the executive secretaries to venture down from the floor above, and she couldn’t remember her own boss’s secretary, Andrea, ever doing so. It wasn’t that they were standoffish at all, just usually rushed off their feet.

Hiya. What brings you down here?

    Lunchtime. Coffee up the road?

    Okay...?

    Tell you then. It’s important.

Julia nodded her acceptance and Andrea moved across the office. She watched as she stopped and spoke to Karen, one of Julia’s staff. After a short conversation that probably matched their own, she moved off. Karen turned around to her and raised an eyebrow, but Julia just shrugged. A few moments later she saw Andrea talking to Josie too.

She watched, mystified, as Andrea headed back to the elevator and waited for it, her foot tapping impatiently. As the elevator doors closed, Julia turned back toward her work but not before meeting Josie’s equally puzzled stare.

Dead on twelve-thirty, she logged her computer out and grabbed her purse. All around her, half the office was doing the same thing. The other half had their lunches later, keeping the office manned.

Karen walked over to her, those impossibly long legs lengthened by three-inch heels, so she towered over everyone else. I’ll be five minutes. Got to run an errand first. Then I’ll be there.

Fine. You want me to order?

Skinny latte will be fine. I’ve already got sandwiches.

You know I’m not officially supposed to approve of you eating at your desk.

So? You do it, so do at least half the staff. Karen headed for the melee in front of the elevator.

Julia wandered off to Josie’s desk. Josie was on the phone and held up one finger to let Julia know how long she’d be, then managed to kill the call in thirty seconds. Let’s get out of this madhouse before it rings again.

    Problems?

Yeah. Warehouse staff aren’t happy about their bonuses being so low. Serves the stupid fuckers right for not working hard enough on Fridays, but will they listen?

Julia chuckled. Friday picking performance, or the lack of, had been a bone of contention between the warehouse and all departments of the office for as long as she could remember. When the new bonus scheme had been introduced two months ago, everyone, at least in the office block, had hoped everything would sort itself out. Clearly, no such luck and Josie’s department, seeing as they did the wages, was the one catching the flack.

They walked down the block together, as Julia filled Josie in on what little she knew. In fact, the only thing she knew that Josie didn’t, was that Karen would be five minutes late.

Andrea was already in the queue when they walked into the coffee shop and Josie grabbed a booth while Julia went to help her with the order.

    Karen?

    Five minutes—got an errand apparently.

    Okay.

What’s this about? Not like you to be cloak and dagger.

I’m not...not really...but let’s wait for your long-legged friend, okay? She turned to the barista as the geeky guy finished serving the previous customer. Two lattes, one skinny latte, and a double shot macchiato.

    Coming right up.

As they waited for the drinks, Julia scanned the room. Josie had got them the window booth, which had the advantage of having the short corridor for the cloakrooms next to it, making it a little separated from the other seating. She mimed drinking, to get them to hurry up, but
