How to Heal from Emotional Neglect ( Step by step)

About this ebook
Emotional neglect is a form of trauma that occurs when an individual's emotional needs are consistently unmet by their primary caregiver. With that said, emotional neglect is a ripping of the soul. It is one of the worse forms of neglect, because the person is often present who is neglecting the loved one. There are no words that can make sense to the one that has survived emotional neglect. Emotional neglect can take many forms, such as being ignored or dismissed, receiving inconsistent or conditional love, or being left to fend for oneself in times of need. This lack of emotional nurturing can have a profound impact on an individual's mental health, leading to a range of psychological issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and difficulties with interpersonal relationships. I will attempt to explore healing from emotional neglect and the steps individuals can take to overcome its effects. Healing from emotional neglect is a lifelong journey but I believe it can be done.
The purpose of healing from emotional neglect is to regain a sense of self-worth and emotional stability. When an individual experiences emotional neglect, they may internalize the belief that they are not deserving of love and care, leading to low self-esteem and feelings of inadequacy. This can manifest in many ways, such as difficulty asserting oneself, feeling overly responsible for others, and struggling to form and maintain healthy relationships. Healing from emotional neglect involves recognizing and challenging these negative self-beliefs and developing a more positive and self-affirming sense of self.
