ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
I want to thank God for allowing me to put pen to paper express myself and share my thoughts with others.
Thanks go to my mother and father for blessing me with a wonderful childhood filled with love, joy, and plenty of good memories.
Thank you to the many people that God sent my way who also helped to make me who I am today.
PREFACE
This book of poems has been in the making for many years. At a very young age I found that I loved words and the magic that they bring. I spent lots of time reading while being carried away to unknown places with authors whose books I couldn’t put down. I would stay up to wee hours with my young self under my covers head and all with a flashlight. My mother would come to my room and tell me to put the book down there’s school tomorrow. The grownups would give me books and magazines to read all the time. Early on I decided I wanted to write a book of poems to share with others. This book has been written from my heart to your heart. I hope to be able to open up someone’s heart and mind and put a smile on someone’s face then my job is done. I want to bring relief to someone in distress or in a bad place. My hope is that my poems will someday be read in classrooms at all levels.
A WHISPER IS A SHOUT
WHEN YOU SHOUT I CAN’T HEAR YOU, MY BRAIN MELTS
MY EARS IMMEDIATELY TURN TO STONE
ARE YOU AFRAID I WON’T HEAR YOU IF YOU ARE NOT SHOUTING?
A WHISPER IS A SHOUT
YOU HAVE MY FULL ATTENTION EVEN WHEN WE ARE MILES APART
I HEAR YOUR HEART BEAT, I HEAR YOUR COOL SWEET BREATH WHISPER IN MY EAR
DON’T YOU KNOW THAT A WHISPER IS A SHOUT?
WHEN YOU ARE SHOUTING IT ALWAYS FLIP FLOPS MY HEART, CAUSES ME TO THINK YOU ARE ANGRY ALTHOUGH YOU TELL ME YOU’RE NOT
THE LOUDER YOU GET THE MORE I CAN’T HEAR YOU
YOUR SMOOTH REFRESHING WHISPER GETS MY ATTENTION RIGHT AWAY
WHEN YOU WHISPER IN THE DARK I HEAR THE SWEET MELODY OF YOUR EVERY THOUGHT
I TOUCH YOUR LIPS WITH MINE AND I SEE MUSIC NOTES AND BECOME COMPLETELY YOURS
A WHISPER IS A SHOUT............
LOOKIN’ FOR COMFORT
I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN
HEAD BOBBING UP AND DOWN
YOU KNOW THAT YOU HAVE NOT BEEN HEARD
I FEEL YOU
I’M WITH YOU ALL THE WAY
I GET YOU
WE’RE ON THE SAME PAGE
YOU RIGHT ABOUT IT.
YOU HAVE MY SYMPATHY- WRONG THING TO SAY, STILL I DESIRE FOR YOU TO REALLY HEAR ME
CALL ME IF YOU NEED ME, YOU GOT MY TELEPHONE NUMBER!!
I NEED YOU NOW
WHY WONT YOU DO WHAT YOU CAN TODAY?
I’M HERE FOR YOU-WHAT’S THAT LOOK OF SORROW?
PLEASE DON’T PITY ME, I WANT TO STAY AWAY FROM A PITY PARTY!
POOR YOU IS ALL I SEE IN YOUR EYES.
I UNDERSTAND-AS YOU TURN AND WALK AWAY, I SEE YOUR BACK AND IT’S THE SAME AS LOOKING AT YOUR FACE. I KNOW YOU WONT COME AGAIN OR CALL TO WISH ME WELL!!!
I MUST REMEMBER THAT TRUE ADVICE IS WITHIN ME.............TODAY AND ALWAYS...........
LOVE IS
EARLY MORNING SPRING DAY, AFTER A NIGHT RAIN.
THE SMELL OF WET GRASS AND THE WAY IT GLISTENS WHEN THE SUN COMES OUT.
LIKE WHEN THE OLD YEAR IS ON THE WAY OUT AND YOU WELCOME IN THE NEW WITH YOUR LOVED ONES.
A SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY, THAT YOU WERE TRULY SURPRISED
