The Mind
Our minds have a huge impact on our health and wellness, because the mind is what kick starts the rest of the healthy factors. Mental health is often looked over and never addressed unless a person has a breakdown that is witnessed by someone else. Medical studies have proven that there are some tests that should be done on a regular basis. Blood pressure, glucose monitoring, mammograms, pap smears, prostate checks, and cholesterol levels are all tests we check annually. No one requires a mental health examination, even though life in a year can really had sparked some psychosocial issues. Racing thoughts, inability to sleep, constantly moving, racing heart, and decreased appetite can all be signs of anxiety. A state your body can go into due to some episodes of depression or anxiety. Other signs of depression are withdrawal from family and friends, inability to sleep during the night, over eating, starvation, uncontrollable crying spells to name few. When there is some depression or anxiety that has been identified, it is important that you seek appropriate help to address the issue you are battling in your mind. Everyone should be required to get a mental health evaluation at least once a year to ensure the mind is healthy, and if it isn’t, then one could continue sessions as needed. It helps to have a person that is trained in this area to help with organizing and restructuring thoughts. Medication is only a band-aid to mental health issues. It is important to seek professional help on this journey.
Your Body
I have a passion to care for the body and encourage others to take responsibility of their own bodies. This entails going to annual doctor checkups, taking medication as prescribed, following instructions of health care providers and athletic trainers. The body is gifted to you from God, and you should always show appreciation for the gifts you have been given. Your body is your temple, and you should honor it with what you do to it and what you put
