Chapter-2
THE STORY STARTS HERE;
Vinathi leaned back in the chair, closed her eyes thinking how to convince her friend Sobria that it was almost impossible to her to win in the case she was asking her to handle. Vinathi knew if it was not her lover whom she loved a lot and planned to marry was framed in that murder, Sobria would not be worried this much and ask her like this. Rojan Sahayog and herself were going to be married just in ten days but in the meanwhile he has been charged with attempted robbery and murder of famous criminal lawyer and his ex-wife Malavika Hemangal. The evidence against him was that much strong and in fact not just she, no lawyer on the earth would come forward to take up that case.
You know very well about Rojan and I need not tell about anything. Just tell me, tell me what you are really feeling. Could Rojan kill her? I already told you that after settlement with his brothers, he has got one crore rupees towards his share. That is more than enough to both of us for whole of our lives. What was the necessity to him to attempt robbery?
What I am thinking or feeling has no bearing on the matter. It is the evidence which makes the judge think and feel about. He was in the crime scene, holding the murdered weapon in his hands while the iron safe there was wide opened and the jewellery, currency etcetera valuables scattered on the floor there. What would be the general opinion of anyone after finding Rojan in such a condition there?
Vinathi stooped forward in the chair, put her both arms on the table in between and looked straight into the face of Sobria.
If he has with the idea to rob her why he would have stayed there holding that knife in his hand like that? Why did not he run away with the jewellery, currency etcetera from there?
Whoever going to argue for Rojan definitely says like this and I can say how the public prosecutor is going to counter attack this. Rojan made Malavika opened the iron safe by holding the knife at her. But after opening the safe Malavika did not like her jewellery etcetera were being taken like that from her, attacked on him. Rojan did not expect this at all and in a fit of rage he stabbed Malavika in her abdomen multiple times until she died. It was something he did not expect to do and what all he thought was just to threaten Malavika and made her open the iron safe, so he could go away from there taking her valuables. Once it has happened like that he did not know what to do but remained along with the body holding the knife in his hand while looking at her until the servant maid found them both so and called the police.
It is absolutely absurd Vinathi you too know about it very well. It did not happen in such a way at all.
The anxiousness in the face of Sobria was intensified even more.
It is not important what I know or what I don’t know. This is the way that P.P. would show that thing to the judge and the public also and everyone believes it. It is just because to the outside world the relationship between Malavika Hemangal and Rojan Sahayog was not that much good.
"The reason for straining of their relationship was; she felt bad and guilty after her marriage with Rojan as he is more than ten years young to her. As she cannot bear children also, she thought it was huge injustice to Rojan keeping him as her husband. She just wanted him to divorce her and marry someone else and have children through her which he did not like at all just because his love on her was like that. You know how much she felt happy when she came to know that we both were in love? She could not wait for the divorce at all and I need not talk anything particularly about it as it was you who arranged that all. You also were a best friend to Malavika and she shared all her feelings with you still why you are talking like this I cannot understand!
I am saying what the public feels. Most of the people only know there were differences between them both but they don’t know why those differences were. Yes, I agree. Malavika was not happy about her relationship with Rojan and she wanted him to take divorce from her and marry someone else just because the reasons you mentioned but there was no proof to it now.
They both took divorce by way of mutual consent and there are no allegations on each other. Is it is not enough proof that there were no serious differences between them both to make Rojan to go to the extent of murdering her?
No, if the divorce is by way of mutual consent the differences and disputes between the couple would not be put in the petition even the couple do have some serious disputes and you too know about it. Just because the divorce is by way of mutual consent, it need not be considered that the couple don’t have serious disputes between themselves. You are also a lawyer and I need not tell you about it.
Of course, I agree.
Sobria nodded her head. But I have all my hopes on you. You know that Rojan has one crore rupees with him. In fact that money is in my account now and I can do anything with it if I want. If it is necessary I do use the last rupee of it also to prove him not guilty.
Suddenly there was a pleading expression in the face of Sobria.
If I am going to plead on behalf of Rojan, I am not going to take even a rupee also from you for that. You too know about it very well.
Leaning back in the chair Vinathi said. But why do you say things like that? You cannot buy justice with money. Evidence is against Rojan like that and you also know very well about Niranjan Siddhant. He is that much clever, he pleads cases in such a way and there is no failure to him at anytime. If the relationship between us both is just the same, I don’t know how it would have been but considering the present situation I cannot even stand straight before him.
Vinathi sighed heavily and closed her eyes. Thinking all about that once again, her mind was becoming more and more anxious.
What’s wrong you did? Why do you feel guilty like that?
Sobria asked her. Being frank also is wrong now a day! Without listening to you full and taking such a decision is his mistake. You need not feel like this at all.
Just put yourself in his place and think. You suddenly came to your home and found your wife in the hands of some man while both were kissing. When you asked your wife, she said that he was her previous lover. When you asked whether she has feeling on him still, she said yes. What’s the most possible thing to you to do then? Niranjan Siddhanth found me suddenly in the hands of my previous lover Nirvender on that day and the rest was just as I said. I just don’t see any wrong on the part of Niranjan.
It was just less to her to burst herself into weeping.
I hundred percent understand how it is if we meet our old lover at anytime even after settling with our husbands and family. I don’t blame you for feeling like that for him but why did you say you have still some feeling for him?
"You just said that I did not do a mistake by being frank and I was just be frank with him. As I am really have feeling on Nirvender, I said so. It
