About this ebook

Do you often feel unable to trust yourself?

Do you wonder whether what you're about to do is not in your best interest at all?

We could all find more peace and happiness, if only we were free from the detriments of self-sabotage. In This book explores the underlying problems that cause self-sabotage, then shows how to overcome it. By understanding how the mind and body react to change, you can strategically take hold of your own happiness. This book offers deeply insightful—and occasionally profane—advice by cutting through the crap and offering the honest, raw truth. Summary of The Mountain Is You: Transforming Self-Sabotage Into Self-Mastery by Brianna Wiest

The Mountain Is You is a simple yet eye-opening book about how we self-sabotage because we want the familiar, even if the comfortable is far from great.  We all self-sabotage at times, but we can overcome these harmful coping mechanisms to create the best version of ourselves.  We have to be able to stop focusing on happiness and work toward inner peace to reach our highest levels.  The work is difficult but straightforward.  Read each chapter, then put in the work necessary to start becoming your best self.  We create our biggest challenges because we are not in control of our reactions, but we can learn to control what is possible and function with the rest.  We are the mountain, but we are also the pathway through.

Chapter One: The Mountain is You

We self-sabotage because we fear change and prefer dysfunctional comfort over something unfamiliar.

We hold ourselves back in life more than anything else.  Picture life as a persistent gap between where we are and where we hope to be in life.  Our efforts to close it are met with our own consistent pain, resistance, and discomfort.  This consistency is about self-sabotage, and it is almost always at work.  At the surface level, self-sabotage appears masochistic as a by-product of lack of willpower, self-hatred, and even low confidence levels.  However, self-sabotage is the presence of unconscious needs
