    I dedicate this book (the first of a series, hopefully) first and foremost to my three children: Serena, Alyssar, and Sami. My magnificent three! You are my greatest accomplishment in life. I am blessed that you are mine!

    My second dedication comes from my heart to Ziad, my husband—the healer, the helper, and the supporter of all my 101 careers, roles, and ambitions. I am so happy you found me.

    This book is also dedicated to my mother, who patiently and lovingly introduced me to the world of cooking. She taught me the ins and outs of the kitchen and never used anything other than her own judgment to measure her ingredients. And to my mother-in-law, who opened my eyes and my taste buds to new and different flavors. 

    Last but not least, I devote this book to all of the Lebanese mothers who have struggled in the midst of such chaotic times. With a pandemic, a catastrophic explosion, the loss of work, a lack of financial stability, and the restriction of access to food and medical supplies, Lebanon has faced immense suffering. Mothers who have struggled to put food on the table yet kept a smile on your face, this is for you.

    Lebanese people are incredibly tenacious. They fight and hope through adversity; they cheer and rise through injustice; they have open hearts and open doors. I pray that God will strengthen their resilience and help them journey into a better future.
