About this ebook

Have you tried every diet under the sun without success? Are you fed up of counting every last calorie and planning each meal with military precision?

With the intermittent fasting methods you’ll find in this book, those problems will become a thing of the past – as will those extra pounds you’ve been trying to lose.

Dieting is difficult and the odds are stacked against you. Your body has all manner of ways to encourage you to eat at its disposal, because it’s hard wired to prevent you from starving. But with intermittent fasting, you won’t need to worry about these problems any more.

Every serial dieter reaches a point where they believe nothing is ever going to work, but can’t work out why. Fortunately, science has done the work for you and figured out what mechanisms are making it so tough to shed the pounds – and how, with intermittent fasting, to get past the hurdles.

Choose your own diet routine

One of the biggest problems for dieters is the constant presence of temptation, from the plate of cookies at work to family meals that smell too delicious to ignore. With intermittent fasting, you can build your diet around those temptations by selecting the right fasting periods for your own lifestyle.

Sidestep the starvation conundrum

Your body doesn’t want you to starve, so there are certain mechanisms that kick in the second you cut down on your food intake. Intermittent fasting avoids these methods better than almost any other diet out there because it mimics the way your ancestors used to live – which is still the way your body is designed to eat.

Take the first step – find out more

This book contains information about the science behind intermittent fasting and the reasons it works so well. Discover:

• How your body becomes dependent on insulin – and how fasting can help

• The ways your body tries to avoid starvation – and why they make dieting so hard

• How intermittent fasting can boost your health while it helps you lose weight.

Figure out the best fasting method for you

There’s more than one way to skin a cat, as they say, and one of intermittent fasting’s biggest benefits is that it allows you to set your own routine. Find out how to design your diet for your own needs, such as:

• Daily periods of fasting that fit around your family meals and work commitments

• Day-long periods without food and normal eating inbetween

• Skipping meals when it feels appropriate.

Start a diet that lets you eat every single food you love

What most people love best about intermittent fasting is that there’s no need to change your eating patterns between your periods without eating. You won’t crave your favorite treats because you can eat as many of them as always and still lose weight. How much you change your eating patterns between fasts is entirely up to you – cutting back or choosing healthier options will help, but you’ll still lose weight either way.

Take charge of your future – lose those pesky pounds

Still not convinced? In this book, you’ll find out all the many advantages of choosing intermittent fasting as your diet plan, including:

• No extra money for special foods

• Less risk of piling the weight back on once it’s lost

• No need to worry about your diet clashing with your commitments

• An end to the daily hunger that makes so many diets fail.

Find out right now how intermittent fasting could be the answer you’ve been craving

Intermittent Fasting for Weight Loss - Elisabeth Ellison

Why Do So Many Diets Fail to Work – and Why is This One Different?

The thing about dieting is that you can make almost any plan work for a little while, but most people find they can’t sustain their success for very long. Why is that? And why is it something you won’t have to worry about with intermittent fasting?

    Restriction, restrictions...then binge

One word can sum up the basic idea of almost every diet plan out there right now: restriction. Most of them claim you can pretty much eat whatever you please – some even tell you that you’ll be eating more than you ever have before. But this is usually only half true.

That’s because most diets are based around the concept of cutting out a particular part of your food chart, whether it’s carbs or fat or anything that’s been near a bowl of sugar. You are not going to be eating these things, so we’ve already touched on the fib behind the claims.

But that doesn’t matter, the diet plans crow. We’re only going to be cutting out this one thing, so you’ll still have all manner of exciting, yummy food to choose from.

True. If you’ve decided to cut out fat, you’ve still got a whole shelf of delicious carbs and sweet treats to choose from, and that’s great – you probably really like a lot of those foods. But there’s always a catch.

Restrict anything, no matter what it is, and you’re eventually going to miss it. You’ll start to crave it, you’ll tell yourself you can’t have it and from that moment on, it’s really all you’ll actually want to eat.

Whether that happens after an hour or a month, it makes no difference. Eventually, you will crave the food you’re forbidden so much that you’ll leap off the wagon with glee and binge on all those naughty foods you’ve been denying yourself. Diet over.

Intermittent fasting really is different to this idea. You are never restricting yourself from eating the foods you love – you can still eat candy bars and white rice and cheesecake and Chinese takeout all you want. You’re just going to be delaying that gratification here and there, making yourself wait a bit longer than you’re used to before lunch is served.

Always different but always the same

You also have to ask yourself why it is that all diets aren’t exactly the same. If there really is a magic solution to extra weight, wouldn’t they all be telling you the same thing? Most diet plans are adamant that one particular ingredient or style of eating is better than all the rest, but it’s always something different.

The truth is that cutting things out as these diets recommend can indeed help you lose weight, but none of them is a lot better than any other. They all boil down to the same basic idea: eat more good things, deny yourself the bad things, drop the pounds as a
