Preface

The DOWNSIDE UP™ Series of Joke Books started with our first Joke Book titled Jokes for GrandParents (To Tell Their GrandKids). This book was inspired by a 5 and a half year old boy, who happened to be my grandson, when he asked me to teach him how to tell jokes. We put a lot of effort into making this book just right. One thing we were conscious of is that in today’s world, children are often consumed by laptops, cellphones and tablets, with less and less interaction not only with both Grandparents and Parents but even with each other. The Covid-19 pandemic has only made matters worse.

The Jokes for GrandParents book has illustrations drawn by illustrators from around the world; many never seen or heard jokes before and other activities and topics in the book for adults to engage in with kids. A natural off-shoot of the first book was the preparation and publication of this DOWNSIDE UP™ Joke Book, Jokes for Retirees and Seniors (That You May Not Want To Tell The Boss).
