have you ever felt so distant?

so far away that the GPS surprised you with the visual of how far you actually have to go

have you ever wished you were closer?

I’ve wanted my personal space to be broken

I’ve wanted the love of my life to never be apart from me

I had to grow

I’ve wanted someone to burst my bubble

I’d try to stretch my arms and legs as far out as possible to make my bubble even bigger to fit someone in

I want my ear to your chest

I want my arms lined up with yours, wrapped around your warmth

I want to trace the valley from your left shoulder, across your wide back, and ending at your right shoulder

I love a black man and used to never want to be a part

but we all need time away to find that missing place

I had to grow because now I know the beauty in I miss yous and they can determine the truth in I love yous

you can get tired of falling in love and it can leave you hanging off a cliff by one finger

the cliffhanger that couldn't decide between loving further away instead of suffocating the space of possible forevers

the cliffhanger holding on to the hanger that holds close lovers, an illusion of believing that spending time all the time can promise forever versus letting go in order to trust your partner's own sense of community, and hoping they truly only want to be with you for just love in addition to lust. lust in love, loving in lust, and even love greater than lust.

I want to embrace you with the gentlest, yet tightest hug. embrace me, cater to me

Have you ever had a hug that healed?

Have you ever experienced a hug that leads you to never wanting to let go because you don't want the world to ever take hold of you again?
