Author

L.C. Arrington

Ms. Arrington was born and raised in Ohio, by her loving parents. She enjoyed staying active; from high school athletics or drama productions to college scholastics and work for her sorority, she embraced it all. After graduating college she moved to Philadelphia, to begin the next phase of her life; higher education and a career in science. As an intelligent, driven, optimistic, fun loving young woman she faced her future head on, ready for whatever challenges and great opportunities that would come her way; always remembering that perseverance builds character. She enjoys music, the arts, sports, traveling, spending time with family and friends and of course writing poetry.

The Doctor is InThis was my second book of poetry. I was a little apprehensive at first but I put it aside and cleared my mind.LC Arrington starts each section as a case study and ends with a "prescription." It was going to the doctor to be treated for an ailment. You go in with weariness and leave with a remedy to make you comfortable if not better. The poems in LC Arrington’s “Prescriptions of a Poet: Remedies of the Heart” speak to you, are you in some cases. This collection is very relatable. This is a quick and easy read.Reviewed by: Jas

Preface

Poetry: The spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings recollected in tranquility~ William Wordsworth

Poetry is like therapy for me, a way to express the highs and lows of the beauty of life in a way that creatively reflects my innermost thoughts.

To experience life is to experience the light and dark, the yin and yang the balance between occurrence and lesson learned.

Life itself is about relationships: whether familial, romantic, platonic or the relationship with one’s self; all are essential to this journey. Life is full of surprises and that is what this book is about. This is a story about love lost and found, friends old and new and the definition of self; told in a contemporary, edgy, genuine and relatable way.

The old saying rings true if I knew then what I know now, hindsight is 20/20 but what if we could simply get a prescription that would be just as effective. The poetry I will share with you
