I was a little more than eight years old when my Lola Iska called me aside into her little room to say that I should be taking her instructions a little bit more seriously because she’s not always available to give my mother the treatment for her migraine attacks. She expected me to start giving my mother the treatment in her place. ‘I’ll try…’ I just said. Even at that young age I was one who would never back out from a challenge.
Lola Iska was not our real grandmother. She came as a household help just before I was born
