Introduction
Our generation is usually always going through a tough phase. Late nights at work, early meetings, and hectic social life are just a few things that add to our everyday stress. But the main cause for our distress is the lack of a regular schedule. Our forefathers never had to worry about stress since they maintained a disciplined Dinacharya that they followed faithfully. This helps keep the doshas in balance, controls the body’s biological cycle, promotes discipline and happiness, and reduces stress.
Most of us follow everything daily, but the manner we follow it makes a difference. Starting the day with a scowl makes the day miserable. In the quest to complete the task given, today’s generation doesn’t devote much attention to his/her personal health. Many a time missing meals, not responding to nature calls at the right time, sedentary lifestyle, racing to bed soon after dinner, and night shifts and insomnia, etc.
A lack of routine can also cause many lifestyle disorders such as obesity, hypertension and stroke, diabetes, coronary heart disease, dyslipidemia, cancer, arthritis, anxiety, insomnia, constipation, indigestion, hyperacidity, gastric ulcer, and early manifestations of aging like greying of hair, wrinkles, depletion of energy levels, etc. Diseases produced due to unsanitary circumstances include Infections of buccal mucosa, teeth, gingiva, skin infections, infection of the ear and nasal cavity, eye infection, urinary tract infection, genital infections, infection of the scalp, etc.
Simple adjustments in one’s lifestyle may prevent these numerous health risks and more. Just as unhealthy lifestyles are the main causes of modern-day diseases, balanced lifestyles may result in an enhanced sense of well-being that is essential to optimum health. Health management is free and pleasant while illness management is extremely expensive and terrible.
Thus, Dinacharya should be used by every person irrespective of their body type, age, gender, or health condition. Even though our requirements are diverse, everyone will benefit from pursuing a healthy lifestyle.
A daily routine is essential for bringing about a dramatic transformation in the body, mind, and consciousness. Routine aids in the establishment of equilibrium in one's constitution. It also helps with digestion, absorption, and assimilation, as well as building self-esteem, discipline, tranquility, happiness, and longevity.
Whether we want to believe it or not, our daily routines and habits (Dinacharya) indeed have an important influence on our long-term health. Every decision we make during the day affects how we look and feel—the foods we consume, the lifestyle choices we make, and even the subtle thoughts we have. When it comes to making health-related choices, it may be difficult to know where to start. It takes awareness, discipline, and commitment to develop healthy habits that persist, which is why embarking on an Ayurvedic journey and self-care routine may be the greatest thing you can ever do for yourself.
