Introduction
Yoga's origin can be traced back to more than 5,000 years ago, but some researchers believe that yoga may be up to 10,000 years old. The word 'Yoga' first appeared in the oldest sacred texts, the Rig Veda, and is derived from the Sanskrit root Yuj
which means to unite.
Yoga is primarily a spiritual discipline that focuses on subtle science, on achieving harmony between the mind and the body of the individual. According to the yoga scriptures, the practice of yoga leads an individual to a union of consciousness with that of universal consciousness. It eventually leads to a great harmony between the human mind and body, man and nature.
The Vedas is a series of texts comprising songs, mantras, and practices used by the Vedic priests, the Brahmans. Yoga was slowly refined and developed by the Brahman and Rishis (mystical seers) who documented their practice and belief in the Upanishads, a vast work containing more than 200 scriptures.
According to modern philosophers, anything in the world is merely a reflection of the same quantum firmament. One who experiences this oneness of life is considered being in yoga and is referred to as 'Yogi,' having achieved a condition of liberation referred to as Mukti, Nirvana, or Moksha. So the goal of yoga is self-realization, to overcome all kinds of sufferings leading to 'The State of Liberation’ (Moksha) or 'Freedom' (Kaivalya).
And yoga is not just for spiritual progress, it provides multiple health advantages as well, such as enhancing endurance, reducing depression, and improving overall wellness and fitness. It's a wonderful mind-body practice that encourages relaxation when you practice linking breathwork (Pranayama) to poses (Asanas). In addition, a recent study has also related the benefits of all types of yoga to enhanced bone density and better sleep quality.
As yoga has grown into mainstream popularity, many styles and variations have emerged in the wellness space. This centuries-old Eastern philosophy is now widely practiced and taught by people of all ages, sizes, and backgrounds.
There are 10 primary types of yoga. With so many different types, it may be a little difficult to determine which type is appropriate for you. But remember that there's no right or wrong—just that one might not be right for you at this moment.
You’ve to ask yourself what's important to you in your yoga practice: Are you searching for a sweaty, intense practice? Or are you searching for a more meditative, gentler practice that looks more appealing?
Like any sort of exercise, choose something you want to do; Bikram or Iyengar will attract you if you're a detailed person. If you're more of a free spirit, Vinyasa or Aerial yoga could be fun.
I've made a complete series on all 10 types of yoga. This is Kundalini Yoga; others are also available!
So, What is Kundalini Yoga?
Kundalini Yoga is derived from Kundalini, defined in Vedantic culture as the energy that lies dormant at the base of the spine until it is activated (by the practice of yoga) and directed upward through the chakras in the process of spiritual glory.
Until it moves, it's almost non-existent. Because of this, Kundalini is symbolized as a snake because it's so hard to see a coiled-up snake unless it moves. Likewise, you can't see this coiled-up energy unless it moves. Miraculous things will happen to you if your Kundalini is aroused. The pouring of a completely new level of energy begins, and your body and everything start to act in a completely different way.
It is believed to be the power associated with the divine feminine. Kundalini Yoga is influenced by the Shaktism and Tantra schools of Hinduism. The regular practice of Mantra, Tantra, Yantra, Yoga, or Meditation leads to the rise of Kundalini.
Kundalini Yoga has grown in popularity over the last few years. It is a synthesis of Bhakti Yoga (devotion and chanting), Raja Yoga (meditation), and Shakti Yoga (expression of power and energy). However, it may include Hatha Yoga techniques (Bandha, Pranayama, and Asana), Patanjali's Kriya Yoga (consisting of self-discipline, self-study, and devotion to God), Tantric visualization and meditation techniques, and other techniques geared towards the 'Awakening of Kundalini.'
Kundalini Yoga, often referred to as Yoga of Awareness,
is more of a mental and spiritual practice than a physical one. In this session, we sit calmly, working the core and upper body with precise, repetitive movements along with chanting, meditation, and various mudras to raise our awareness.
It is accessible to people of all ages, abilities, and skills (except young children under 14). It's a dynamic, powerful yoga to witness your soul. Trained for hundreds of years and brought by ‘Yogi Bhajan’ to the West in the late 1960s, practitioners have long turned to Kundalini Yoga for many health benefits, including lower stress levels, balanced glandular systems, reduced stress, increased lung capacity, and a stronger nervous system. It was even found to improve memory.
In this book, I will explain the science behind Kundalini Yoga, the power of Kundalini, and once awakened through Kundalini Yoga, Kundalini meditation that helps transfer the energy to the upper chakras. The guide will include kriyas, asanas, different breathing techniques, and Kundalini Meditation.
This Kundalini Yoga sequence is designed to fully awaken the spinal column, the central nervous system, and Sushumna Nadi which is the main energy channel. It’s a great practice to keep the spine flexible, cultivate radiant energy flow, and maintain youthfulness and vitality.
So if you want to awaken your Kundalini energy, develop inner guidance, increase vitality and wellbeing, and feel happier, healthier, and more energized, Kundalini Yoga is for you. The Serpentine Kundalini energy trains the body and the mind.
I have to say that you are blessed to discover the powerful Kundalini Yoga technique. Even a modest 30-minute daily practice will bring significant changes in your life. You may feel more energized, grounded, relaxed, and more alive at the same time! Your presence will become more magnetic, and you'll attract things you've had to run after previously.
You will become more aware and notice the fine points and
