- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book is very cute, with pretty illustrations and designs. There's an entry for every day of the year, and the book itself is compact so you can carry it around with you if you like. I'm excited to try some of the recipes.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This little book reminds me of a diary or journal. It is divided into four sections, one for each season of the year. It reads very easily, a lot like a note -to-self on each page...things to remember about personal health, beauty, nutrition, person habits, all easy to absorb and consider. It's refreshing. I love it.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I like the small size of the book. Easy to carry around but a little heavy due to the small size. I liked the way the author chose to break the contents up into the 4 seasons of the year and have tips and ideas that corresponded to those times. While it is nice to have all of the information, I found it to be a bit overwhelming as a devotional. I also found it hard to look up things in the index that I had read prior and wanted to look back on.I was given a copy of this book for the purpose of review.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I received this book in late fall so I decided to hold-off on implementing any of the "inspirations" until the beginning of winter. I am curious to see where these tips and suggestions take me. A full year is broken down into the four seasons, with daily entries full of tips, recipes, and mantras. While I'm not one for mantras, I do appreciate the seasonality of this book as I am a believer that nature gives us what we need when we need it (i.e. starchy root veggies to keep us full in autumn, vitamin C-fueled citrus in winter, antioxidant-packed berries in summer, etc.).Reading through the introduction, I took pause at some of the author's philosophy. While some people are allergic or sensitive to foods like dairy and gluten, I do not believe they are unhealthy. When a "professional" immediately calls-out foods like those for being the root of all one's health problems and encourages people to avoid those foods, I immediately question the author's true expertise in nutrition. My personal philosophy is everything in moderation so you can enjoy everything; unless I have a legit and diagnosed allergy to food, I allow all foods into my life because food is delicious and necessary. This is a very pretty book and would make a great gift for a friend or for yourself. I love the graphics and I am jonesing for some fabric with those same prints.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I received this book not realizing that I had purchased for my Kindle the 'Eat Pretty' book. At first, I thought I had both a Kindle and a print copy, but then realized that this book is daily inspirational thoughts to help one eat well for body health and beauty. I actually like this better than the original book since it is comprised of short daily pages. The book is small; only 5" x 7", but is nearly an inch thick. Each day has no more than one page to it and many pages are shorter than one page. I can read as many pages at a time as I want. It is divided into four sections, one for each season. Each season's pages are numbered. It begins with Spring and each page has at the top corner, "Spring Day 1" and on through the season. When Summer comes, it changes to 'Summer Day 1' and continues. No matter what season you begin the book, you just start with the season you are in and begin reading. If you have read "Eat Pretty", you will just be reminded of things you have already learned. If you haven't, you will learn about foods and how they affect your body to nourish or heal or even harm. If you like self-help books, you will most likely like this book, too.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I read these daily inspirations for several months and have enjoyed what I have read so far. Hart guides her readers in small easy to accomplish doses to care more for their health and wellness, especially for their skin. Each day has a little piece of knowledge to impart or action on which the reader can focus. This little book has beautiful borders and would make the perfect gift.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What a Beautiful BookThis book would make a wonderful gift for someone special in your life, your mother, daughter or best friend. Give one to yourself first, you deserve it. You can read this as a daily devotional, or if you are like me, you won't be able to put it down.I love the way the book is divided into seasons. The recipes given, as well as the health tips are appropriate for the section it is listed in. Autumn suggest eating more squash, pumpkin and sweet potato, since they are readily available. It is also packed with motivating goals, challenges and Mealtime Mantras. "Today's meals are gifts to my body, as this day is a gift to my life." I received this Devotional Book from Chronicle Books and would like to give an honest review as a thank you for this privilege. Can't wait to go out and get one for each of my daughters.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I like the layout of the book and its small size--easy to carry with me. I also like the short readings for every day, with topics related to health and well being. The seasonal nature of the readings pertain to topics that are appropriate for each season and its own aspects and quirks. The only thing I did not really like is that each section is numbered on its own and each season starts the numbers over again. I got this book in the middle of the season, and I had to try to figure out where to start (being the rather organized person I am). I wish the book had some dates in it to guide where a person should be each season.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Book seems lovely. I really like those inspirations for 365days but after reading what “keeps me away from my best” I nearly had a heart attack. Literally everything was pointed. So due to the list I should live on sun and water. One tip says that heated oils are bad when later on recipes contains sautéed veg. So I assume an author meant deep fried maybe?
But after that I decided not to follow the instructions as author can’t be trusted in nutrition. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I received this book from Early Reviewers. It is a pretty little book with many good ideas. It is not something I would follow day to day .
