The story

A bath

Splish….the water rolled gently in the bathtub.

Nicole luxuriated in the warm soapy water for a few minutes. It was some genuine peace and quiet for her. No kids, no husband, no needs. Just her and the water. She shrugged her shoulders in a yoga fashion and turned her head stretching the muscles there. The water feeling warm on her body she took a deep breath to enjoy the moment. Her toes wiggling and clenching as she stretched the joints. The sensation of just being in her body was quite pleasant.

Taking baths was one of her more favorite treats – provided that she had the time to enjoy it and that (god love them anyway) none of her family or the pet cats interrupted her. Sometime she would try bringing a glass of wine into the bathroom with her. That was the type of idea that was good in theory but not in practice. It seemed like the times she did that, something happened. Someone needed her -the kids, her husband Dave and even the damn cats Billy and Bob would choose those days to paw and cry at the door
