About this ebook

The paranormal attacks have escalated and the stakes are climbing as Kyle Hanson returns to Greensborough Louisiana with one last, dying hope of finding his little brother alive. But after the violent death of a fellow cast member and the suspension of his television show, Kyle has new challenges to face. As the tenuous relationship between him and his step-father and step-brother starts to break apart, Kyle embarks on one last desperate visit to the haunted woods where Tyler disappeared.

When Kyle goes driving alone in the early morning around Haven park, he finds the end of his search. A car crash. A heavy fog. A figure on a bridge, beckoning for him to follow. And Tyler, standing in the road.

In this thrilling finale to the first season of The Raventree Society, questions will be answered and more will be raised as Kyle comes face to face with the most dangerous spirit he's faced yet.

Kyle pushed the door of the Nissan closed, frowning at the hurried paint job. It barely covered the bone chilling scratches from the Haven ghost. They hadn’t done such a great job, but he hadn’t given them much time either.

Kyle. Carl stepped out of the hotel, arms spread out. Sagging bags hung under his eyes, wrinkles spreading deeper along his forehead. There were even a few new white hairs in his black curls. It’s good to have you back safe. He wrapped his arms around Kyle’s shoulders.

For once, it wasn’t awkward. Maybe Kyle was just too tired to worry about it this time. He let himself relax in Carl’s embrace for a moment.

I’m so sorry about your friend. Carl pulled away. But that show should have been put on hold before this. What with Tyler…

Kyle shook his head and turned to pull open the back door of his Nissan. You kidding me? And miss out on the opportunity to get better ratings? He tugged his suitcase out of the back. Hannah had packed it, which was the only reason why he’d managed to close it. He’d been in the police station most of the last two days. Sorin’s death was ruled as heart failure, but now Kyle was connected to two recent accidents and the cops were more than a little suspicious. Good thing they had a seventy-year-old serial killer case to work on. Hopefully they didn’t linger in that hole too long. Already they had identified ten different skeletons in the mud, and there were more still coming.

Who knew how many of those were from the life-time of the killer? Sarah was nearly one.

Hannah had called right before Kyle reached the Louisiana state line. She’d stayed in Georgia and she’d gone to visit Sarah. Apparently she was doing well, recovering quickly. No way Kyle was going to hang around for that, though. He’d already added a funeral to the list of horrific events he’d be forced to attend this year. At least he didn’t have to think about filming until next season.

Carl pulled the suitcase out of Kyle’s hands and slapped him on the shoulder. Firm, like the retired soldier he was. We could use you back here, anyway.

Kyle followed him into the hotel, faltering as he passed a massive, plastic tree in the middle of the foyer. Christmas decorations? Really?

It’s Thanksgiving tomorrow. Carl watched Kyle with amusement plastered on his drawn features.

Shit, really? Kyle rubbed his neck. Most years, he would be on the phone with Mom right now, arguing about why he couldn’t make it for the holiday again. She rarely won and
