About this ebook

The Voodoo shop in New Orleans was supposed to contain answers. And while Kyle Hanson knows that no place is safe from the ghost who murdered his brother, he is not willing to give up the fight so soon. Now, with Hannah back at his side and an end in sight, Kyle is just hoping he will have the strength to make it through until he can find a weapon with which to fight back. But when he enters Madam Amanda's Voodoo shop, he is not prepared for what is hidden in the walls.

As darkness falls and evil begins to seep out of the building, Hannah and Kyle find themselves running from a murderous spirit who's already struck once, and into a dark maze of cultic witchcraft, a hidden room, and human sacrifice. And while the lost spirit of a blood-soaked woman reaches out to them, Joseph's noose grows ever closer.

As Kyle grows weaker, and Tyler with him, it seems the only escape will be through death.

Kyle sighed in relief as Hannah leaned over the table, holding out the coffee pot.

    More?

Gonna need more than what’s in there. Kyle offered his mug and eyed the thick, black liquid filling it.

This is getting pretty serious, isn’t it? Hannah might have just traveled all the way from California, but she was nearly flawless. Kyle still couldn’t quite believe she was here, in the living room of the tiny bed and breakfast. Her silky hair lay across one shoulder, framing her face and exposing her long neck and her patterned feather earring. She wore a simple dusky-pink trench coat, with a fur-lined collar pulled open to let in the warmth of the room. Her legs looked a mile long in the dark-grey leggings. Pink lipstick was slightly smeared off her upper lip. Barely noticeable. But Kyle had smeared her lipstick before, and he couldn’t help but be aware.

It was always serious. He couldn’t work up the energy for sarcasm today.

Hannah frowned, blinking quickly a few times. She tugged at her earring and stared at the ceiling before answering. And yet, you are still going into haunted buildings, looking for trouble.

This argument again. Kyle pulled at the brittle fabric of his t-shirt. He was going to have to buy some new clothes, all his were dirty. Yeah.

Hannah stood with her hands planted on the table watching with a careful gaze. A snort sounded in the corner. Philip had fallen asleep on the couch, his camera still laying on the floor beside him. Samuel sat on the far side of the table, taking sips of his coffee and pausing between each one to glare at Kyle.

Hannah gathered her hair into her hand, twisting it a few times before placing it back on her shoulder. The slightest hint of exhaustion showed through her make-up.

I decided you might need me. Your parents are worried. She put her over-sized purse on the table and pulled it open. Your dad was about to come down himself.

Well, they are ridiculous. And they need to stay far away from me, where it’s safer.

Hannah sighed heavily and put a tablet on the table. We were talking about our little quandary…

Why is it that you have better communication with my family than I do?

I put in the effort. Hannah opened the tablet and brought up an article. I found this, and we all think it might have some real potential.

I didn’t read it. Kyle took a long drink of his coffee to hide how much his hand was shaking. He was losing what little control he had. His life was a wild carnival ride and now he
