About this ebook

“Before You Date” is an inside look at what goes on before someone enters into marriage. The book answers the questions of what it is like to choose a marriage partner, how to maintain a pure and strong relationship bond, and how to stay true to oneself in a world where people define love relationships crookedly. The author, Stuart Chiwale, seeks to lay bare the principle and steps the youth of today have to take in order to build a film marriage base. Chiwale’s conclusions are based on real life experiences and he uses simple language to convey his message to both the youth and elderly.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Predominantly, I thank my mother; Miss. M. Chiwale, for her understanding and encouragement in support of my writing sessions in those noisy nights.

I’m also really indebted to the following people for sharing their life and relationship experiences: Naomi Chinkhuntha, Sibhusiso Prince, Lydia Ntchongwe, Hope Chawala Banda, Adrian Ovitha Matambo and Emmanuel Chikuse. I don’t take your time for granted. Without you guys I couldn’t come up with this book. And so instead of saying that this is my book, I say this is our book.

Finally, I thank these people for encouraging me to go on with the project: My uncle, Mike Chiwale, Patrick Issah, Precious Paul, Mphatso James, Selah Suluma, Favor Chingondo, Esther Phale, Martha Chikhazu, Yamikan H. Baluti and Stanford Sitolo. You guys rock!! Obviously, you know what emoji I could have put if I were writing this on what’s App.

    INTRODUCTION

I met this other lady who asked me a question on why relationships and marriages nowadays aren’t lasting long. I remember answering her in three words Lack of understanding. Anything you lack understanding on, you cannot handle wisely, and it’s likely that you will lose it. Relationships and marriages, without understanding them, are like a house without a strong foundation! No matter how much effort you invest in building it, eventually it will fall on a little stagger.

A lot of people are getting into relationships every day, but few really do that with an understanding of what they are getting into. Having a time to understand relationships before getting into one is
