In this book, I will share with you what I do to stay at a healthy weight. Sharing this information might help some of you in your quest to become healthier or motivate some of you to make some positive changes when it comes to your eating and exercising habits. This book is not about dieting. Diets for the most part don’t work. When we diet, we tend to lose the weight and then gain it right back. This book is about lifestyle changes. It’s about a combination of healthy eating habits and exercises that will help you lose weight and stay at a healthy weight for the rest of your life. Eating right and exercising should be part of your life. You can’t lose weight without eating right and exercising; these two things go together. I often see people at the gym who work out every day and they are still overweight. They are doing the exercise but they are most likely not watching what they eat. You have to do both in order for you to lose weight and keep it off.

My formula for losing weight and keeping it off is simple,

Less Calorie Intake + More Exercising = Weight Loss. In another word, if you burn more calories than you take in, you will lose weight. It’s as simple as that.

Since we live in a land of plenty, food is everywhere. There are food advertisements almost everywhere we go. We cannot walk down the street without seeing some type of advertisements for hamburgers, cheeseburgers, french fries or fried chickens. Living in a land of plenty makes it very difficult to maintain a healthy weight. We are humans and we are built to eat. We can eat more food than we need to and the excess calories that cannot be used as energy will be stored as fat. That’s why we should do whatever it takes to watch what we eat so that we can maintain a healthy weight. Carrying extra weights on the body can be bothersome and it can shorten your life by many years. Obesity can decrease your energy level and increases your chances of acquiring many preventable diseases. Once your health deteriorates, your quality of life will suffer.

The key to maintaining a healthy weight is to be watchful of what you eat and to make exercising an integral part of your life. Staying at a healthy weight is a battle that you have to fight every day. When it comes to
