About this ebook
Metabolic rate slows down significantly as you get older. Of course the older you get the less activity you engage in.With your present weight, you can determine your body mass index (BMI). BMI is a useful measure of overweight and obesity. It is calculated using your height and weight. BMI is usually the estimate of your body fat and a good gauge of your risk for diseases that occur with more body fat. It is known that the higher your BMI, the higher your risk for heart diseases, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, gallstones, apnea and other breathing problems, and certain cancers. It is estimated that over 7 million deaths worldwide are as a result of heart disease. Nearly 10 million deaths were due to cancer. In a few years, it is estimated that cancer will claim 11 million lives every year going forward. It gets worse. It is estimated that by the year 2031—a little over a decade from now—over 336 million people worldwide will be diabetic.Presently, over sixty-six percent of Americans over the age of 20 are debilitatingly obese. Are you obese? Are you overweight? What is your BMI?With weight loss, you must not successfully be living in discomfort to lose it all. It will be miserable and you will spend all the hours you are awake thinking about food. That is punishing and even an enemy must not be allowed to suffer such. Lose the weight the right way without the discomfort. Eat well, eat clean, eat right and watch the pounds melt away.

Eat Well
We must eat to survive and function. Some of us must learn to eat to be healthy. Apart from eating to be healthy, you can also eat to meet your special level of activity. If you do not eat to be healthy, you are likely eating unhealthily to be sick.
You must pause and take a look at your type and content of food consumption because if you were eating unhealthily, you are inadvertently creating a path to diabetes, heart problems and some kinds of cancers and an eventual early death.
Too much of anything is not good. Those things that make you healthy can also kill you. At the end, you are the only one who will determine and define what your moderation point is. That is the point you maintain your own optimal health.
You know your weight. You know whether you are overweight or obese. Your weight alone is a strong indicator of your good or not so good health. Are you unhealthily skinny and desire to gain some weight? If you are overweight and your desire is to lose some weight, you can do so without frustration, pain and then an ultimate failure.
If you are unhealthily underweight, you can manage your weight to a desired level even if you do not eat meat. Are you eating enough as required for your daily activities?
Balanced, healthy diets do not contain large amount of salt, fat and sugar. You can enjoy balanced, healthy foods that come in many varieties every day. You can even eat some of those foods you love and crave. You can even spoil yourself once in a while.
You can eat burgers and fries and all those foods you crave, 20% of the time. When you eat what you love and crave, 20% of the time, your journey to losing some weight and meeting your goals will not be met with frustration and failure.
You will just have developed a healthy eating habit by the time you begin to stick to a plan for a period of time.
The key word in food consumption is moderation. One other keyword in food is calories. Your body uses calories from food for thinking, walking, running, breathing and other important functions.
By the end of this book, you would have read a lot on how to manage your calories so much so, you will start recognizing that your behavior
