Introduction
A Ketogenic diet is generally categorized by a very high fat resource. It is mainly made up of low carbohydrate content, a high fat content and an adequate amount of protein; it is something around 70% of fats, 25% of protein and 5% of carbohydrates. It is also called low carb diet or low carb high fat (LCHF) diet; it creates a metabolic state known as ketosis in the body, in this state, ketones are produced by the body.
Ketones are alternative fuel used by the body when the supply of glucose is limited. The liver produces them from fats, from there they are transported and used as fueling agents in the brain and other essential organs in the physiological body.
