Zusammenfassung
Schon in prähistorischen Zeiten waren sich die Menschen der Bedeutung von Selbstbewusstsein und
Selbstregulierung bewusst, obwohl der Begriff emotionale Intelligenz erst viel später im Jahr 1964 geprägt wurde. Das Konzept gewann in den 1990er Jahren aufgrund der von Salovey veröffentlichten Forschungsarbeiten an Popularität und Mayer und das von Daniel Goleman veröffentlichte Buch.
Im Allgemeinen kann EI als die Fähigkeit definiert werden, die eigenen Emotionen sowie die anderer zu verstehen und zu kennzeichnen, die Emotionen und das damit verbundene Verhalten zu verwalten und sie zu verwenden, um andere zu sozialisieren und zu beeinflussen. Es gibt verschiedene Modelle von EI. Das Fähigkeitsmodell betrachtet EI als kognitive Fähigkeit. In diesem Modell ähneln EQ-Tests IQ-Tests. Das Merkmalsmodell betrachtet EI als mit
