    The ability to recognize and understand one's own emotions as well as the emotions of others is referred to as emotional intelligence. It entails the ability to manage and regulate one's own emotions, as well as the ability to communicate with and comprehend others empathically and successfully.

    Emotional intelligence is classified into four categories:

    1. Self-awareness: the ability to recognize and

    comprehend one's own emotions, as well as how

    they influence one's thoughts and actions.

    2. Self-regulation: the ability to control and manage

    one's own emotions in a healthy and constructive manner.

    3. Motivation: the ability to employ emotions to propel

    action and attain objectives.

    4. Empathy: the ability to comprehend and relate to

    the feelings of others.

    Emotional intelligence is significant because it allows people to better understand and control their own emotions as well as those of others. It can lead to greater communication and relationships, as well as better decision-making and leadership. It also plays a role in overall mental health and well-being.

    The concept of emotional intelligence was popularized by psychologist and author Daniel Goleman in his 1995 book Emotional Intelligence.
