In this book, I hope to make the impossibility of a healthier future become, not only a possibility, but a reality to you. I hope to give you a realistic and practical view on your health and give you the tools to make little changes, one by one, bringing you to a place of victory and wholeness.

The areas addressed in the book include practical, emotional, mental and spiritual. I have also added some healthy recipes that I have personally tried and some help with symptoms.

I am a wife, mother, teacher, entrepreneur, author, and speaker.History: I grew up in a home with a family-owned electrical and hardware business (which started out as a grocery store). From an early age I learnt about working hard, business, solving problems, teamwork, sacrifice and commitment. My parents taught me that I could only succeed and that no problem is unsolvable. Failure was never even mentioned. So, I grew up believing that I could accomplish anything.Businesswoman: I worked in the family business with my parents and siblings ever since I can remember. When I finished school, I studied business management and did a course in effective communication, human relations and public speaking (both part-time) while running the electrical workshop. I also became the buyer of the electronics department. In later years I became the financial director. After getting married and having 3 children, in 2005, at the age of 35 I resigned to be at home with my children, with one of them having many health challenges at the time.Wife, Mother & Teacher: Being at home, I ploughed all my energy into my family, researching on health, which brought me to lifestyle changes for my whole family. Then, in 2012, we took our children out of the private school they were in and began our journey home schooling them. Thank God for the teaching gift I inherited from my father! I have documented most of the wisdom I have learnt over the years on relationships, raising children, health & wholeness, home schooling, finances, marriage and life.Author, Speaker & Entrepreneur: In 2006 my husband and I started our own property development family business which he now runs. Currently I am a speaker, author and blogger, writing books on home schooling, health & wholeness, personal development & Biblical research. I am a member of The Maxwell Leadership Team, a global team of independent certified coaches, teachers, speakers and entrepreneurs.     A HUGE thank you to my husband, Miguel, and my children, Tiago, Joshua and Christina, who have been my willing guinea pigs (myself included) for all the testing, experimenting, new recipes, new remedies, homemade concoctions, etc.! It was always a lot of fun trying out and discovering new ways of doing things. It still is. I might have made a good rocket scientist ... or nutty professor :)

    Thanks to my dad who often said, You must never eat white bread. It makes a 'ball' in your stomach! (he was referring to your colon), and Always wash the fruit before you eat it to wash off all the chemicals they spray on them.

    Thanks to my mom who didn't trust the fast food outlets when they first started popping up everywhere in Cape Town in the 1970's. She said that when she was younger, she would often rather eat a sandwich than a piece of cake.

    Thanks to my Aunty Fatima who first taught me about herbs and plants. Every time I visited her, she would walk me through her back yard, showing me all the herbs and plants that she was growing, teaching me little bits of information about gardening and planting ... and the duck who laid the eggs! I would sometimes come home with something to plant, but I never thought of getting a duck!

    Thanks to Mr & Mrs Loi who introduced me to fruit teas, herb teas, diluting your juice and having fruit as a dessert after a meal instead of pudding or cake.

    Thanks to my pastor and mentor, Dr Allan Bagg, of The Bay Christian Family Church. Your teachings are on another level! They have grown me in every area of my life.

    Your health is about much more than just your body. It is also about your thought life, your emotional health, making wise choices, your relationships and spiritual well-being.

    Getting healthy is not a flash. It's a journey. And a journey is taken one step at a time. It's also not a diet. It's a lifestyle. It will NEVER be perfect because life isn't perfect, but here's the good news: It doesn't have to be. Perfection is not sustainable, but doing the best you can with what you have is VERY do-able.
