Chapter One

Lihua’s plane landed in London. It would only be a short visit. There was a silver Mercedes waiting to take to her destination. The driver opened the door, greeted the woman who now looked like a powerful business woman and shut the door. Lihua was on the phone making calls as soon as the car drove off and headed towards Chelsea. She was looking forward to the visit, it would be a time to relax and yet she had eyes on Ruby-Rae at all times. There was something, Lihua had wanted her to do.

‘Yes, I will do everything I can to get your daughter back,’ said Lihua as the car turned a corner. ‘Don’t you worry.’

The woman on the other end of the call had tried everything in her power to find her daughter. Lihua had found out some information, but now would need her daughter to do the rest of the work. It had been a business plan all along. Creating Ruby-Rae had been like creating a super car. Neither Lihua or Julian had ever thought that their daughter had feelings and would like to be loved like everyone else. To them, she was worth billions. Over time there was no telling what would turn up, the sky was the limit and Lihua wasn’t about to share that with Julian. It had been her plan all along, to get rid of him.  Why would she want to share the power with him, when he would’ve done the exact same thing? She’d just beaten him to it.

As the car drove along she made a few more calls.  It was time to get busy and do what she’d plan to do all along. The car stopped outside an apartment on the upper side of Chelsea. The driver stepped out and opened the door.

‘I’ll be about two hours.’

‘Yes ma’am.’

She took the steps to the fancy apartment and pulled the spare key from her bag and unlocked the door. She stepped in, disabled the alarm and headed upstairs. She entered the main bedroom and smiled the minute she saw Misty. The beautiful woman with long dark black hair, gorgeous Mediterranean skin. The women with long slender legs smiled as she waited for her lover.

‘Hey, gorgeous.’ Lihua leaned towards her and gave her a kiss. Misty held onto Lihua tight.

‘I missed you,’ Misty mouthed.

‘I missed you too. Now let me get undressed.’ Lihua pulled back and began to undress while Misty admired her. Before long they were side by side naked and appreciating each other’s body.

‘I love you,’ Misty panted.

‘I know you do.’ She kissed down Misty’s flat stomach and stopped at her middle, looked up and smiled. Misty returned the smile. Lihua pulled down Misty’s black panties with her teeth. Once it was off she began to kiss up Misty’s legs. Misty was taken immediately. She loved Lihua more than words to express and she’d do anything for her. She’d waited for her for years and the time had finally come. Lihua was all hers.

Lihua took full control of the situation and Misty was like putty in her hands.

‘I can’t believe you’re back with me. I thought I’d lost you.’ Jacob admired her as she lay in bed. ‘I love you so much.’

‘I love you too. I can’t believe I’m here too. I...’ Her face suddenly changed from happy to sad.

‘What’s wrong honey?’

‘I just want it all to end. I want it to stop, but I feel it is only just beginning. They control me.’

‘They only control if you let them.’

‘It’s not that simple. It’s as if something was planted in me and all my father has to do is say the words.’

‘But you overcame that. Don’t you see? You still have the power over yourself.’

She was silent.

‘Believe in yourself. If you can do it once you can do it again.’

‘I know, but I don’t want to do it at all. I want to be free, but I know he won’t let go.’ She felt like crying, but she knew that was of no use. Crying wasn’t going to solve this.

‘I will help you. I will do anything you want.’ He watched her.

‘You mean kill him?’

‘If that’s what you want.’

‘Jacob. I don’t want that. You know how I feel about killing. He’s my father.’

‘He’s a monster and all he wants is to use you.’

‘I don’t want you to kill him. That’s not how I want it.’

‘Okay. If you ever have second thoughts just say the word.’

She smiled knowing he meant well. She loved him regardless of the fact that he was an assassin.

‘What’s the smile about?’ He touched her nose playfully.

‘It’s nothing.’

‘It’s something.’ He tickled her.

‘No! Don’t do that.’ She squealed.

‘Why not.’ He continued to tickle her and she laughed so hard her insides hurt.

‘Stop! Stop!’

He suddenly stopped, their eyes met. He smiled mildly. He loved this woman so much. He just wanted to be with her for the rest of his life. He wouldn’t let Julian or Lihua take that away from her. They’d have to kill him first before that every happened.

‘What?’ she asked.

‘I love you.’ He kissed her not waiting for a reply.

Ruby-Rae’s arms wrapped around his neck. Her heart swelled with love for him. She didn’t have to tell him, he could feel it in the way she kissed him, the way she touched him and made all the right sounds for him. They just knew they would be together forever. At least they hoped so!

‘So, how’s our girl?’ Misty asked Lihua feeling relaxed as she rubbed Lihua’s shoulder gently.

‘Very well. I am about to send her on a mission.’

Misty smiled.

‘Yes, it’s all coming together nicely.’

‘Yes, it is.’

There was a sudden silence. It was as if a dark cloud had just drifted over them.

‘Is everything alright?’ Misty asked.

‘Yes. Fine. I’ve got to go.’ She kissed her cheek, got up and began to get dressed.

‘When will I see you again?’ She smiled up at Lihua.

Lihua was silent as she did up the last few buttons on her shirt. She picked up her handbag that was on the floor and pulled out a gun.

‘Lihua, what are you doing?’

‘I can’t have distractions in my life. You’re a weakness I can’t afford to have.’

‘Lihua...Please.’
