Poems For Those Who Have Sinned - Matthew Tonks

    Something Hidden

    Relentless,

    unforgiving,

    ripping,

    tearing,

    mauling my everything,

    twisting,

    turning,

    polluting my soul,

    my sin,

    making me,

    something different,

    someone new,

    something hidden,

    something free,

    something else,

    something,

    not me.

    Pieces

    Breaking,

    undoing,

    remaking,

    my splintered self,

    my shadow,

    my form,

    building,

    recreating all I was,

    all I am,

    feasting,

    gorging,

    upon you all,

    one by one,

    growing stronger,

    crossing over,

    breaking the wall down,

    with your sin.

    Scissors

    Cutting,

    chopping,

    through your flesh,

    stabbing,

    ripping,

    with its blades two,

    tearing,

    slashing,

    within,

    opening you up,

    pain,

    screaming,

    is it over you cry,

    I smile,

    and you cry some more,

as I cut out your tongue,

no need for any more questions,

    not where we’re going.

    True Horrors Await Me

And as the beast rose before me,

I gazed upon its massive form,

    and I knew true horror,

    its teeth were many,

    its eyes were black,

    its skin was decaying,

    its hands clawed,

    and its stench,

    well,

    it was overwhelming,

    and as it looked down
