About this ebook

You hold in your hands a piece of a puzzle far grander than you could ever know. For scrawled in blood upon the pages are stories twisted thirty-one in all, soaked in the embers of my insanity. Five minutes to glimpse inside the eyes of someone new, five minutes to ponder, five minutes to sing, five minutes to do almost anything. A peasant, a zombie, a robot, a war. A kiss, a witch, a titan, a roar. Mirrored reflections, a funeral or two. Death and division, humanity askew. A belfry of bats, a sea of black cats, so many moments out there to see, so many things you could see with me. So take a seat beside me and call it voodoo, because now you ride with me too...

    Boiling Seas

This whole patience bullshit is growing thin. I say we strike now, while the iron is proverbially hot. They won’t be expecting any retaliation, they won’t b…. he stops mid-sentence as Darrias raises his hand commandingly.

There will be no retaliation. We will not endanger any more of our people.

You can’t just sit there and allow them to walk over us like we are nothing! We need to show strength! We need to flex ou…

WE NEED TO DO NOTHING! Darrias says loudly as he gets to his feet, casting a vicious glance at Fennic. Those days are coming to an end, and soon we will have no choice but to share our lands with the demons from beneath our feet. We need keep our people alive now, not sully their kin with blood that needn’t be spilt. Tomorrow we four ride to the faraway lands. Tomorrow we brand our blood with the beast’s name and forever sire a new world, a new tomorrow where blood does not flow in the streets as it does now. I need you with me Fennic. I need your clan by my side when I forge the eternal bond. You must look past all you have lost, and look at what you still have, Darrias says.

Fennic looks around at the fear filled eyes of the men who sit around the King’s table with him, and then rests his eyes on Darrias.

I have nothing but my pain, and the scars of yesterday. But I will ride with you tomorrow, and I will allow this blood pact to take place. Though know this my liege, when the day comes, and I see that yellow eyed demon who stole my wife and child from me, I will kill it and anything or anyone who tries to stop me. Do you understand?

Fear not my brother, for when that day comes, I will be by your side covered in its blood, Darrias says as he digs his fists into the table.

    Heart Shaped Stain

Why does it feel like home is something I’ll never know again?

Because you’re paranoid Sonya, we will always have a home. It just won’t be in the same place, Davis says with a sly smile.

What sort of answer is that? A voice says from behind them, Davis doesn’t even bother turning around, he only allows his smile to grow larger.

Michael, so good of you to join us, we were beginning to think you’d abandoned us.

How can one abandon those who are not even on the same plane of existence as he.

Maybe you should’ve stayed in your hole, I’ve forgotten how irrepressible your un-dry humour is.

I have missed the soothing sounds of your voice as well my brother. But it changes little of my question, or hers. What will tomorrow bring?

Davis laughs, We all know that question has no answer, we are but former moments moving around this merry-go-round called existence, waiting f…

Oh Davis, for all that is, please shut up! Sonya hisses. Are you sure this is inevitable? Are you sure they know what we are?

Of course I’m sure. Do you think I’d be making such a big deal if I wasn’t sure?

    I don’t know anymore, after Keifer I do…

What about Keifer? He played no role in any of this bullshit, he’s nothing, so why mention him! Davis says with a snarl as he lunges towards her, Michael cuts him off and slams him against the wall.

Need to calm down there Davis old boy, wouldn’t want things to get any worse for you than they already are.

    What does that mean?

"What does it sound like? You played a game that you lost, and with you losing, we all lose. You should’ve never told the
