Why You Need to Publish a Book

    Chapter 1

Grow your business without writing anything

The benefits of having your own published book are nearly infinite.

In the current Internet age, how you are perceived is more important than ever before. Having your own book makes you an authority in your field regardless of whether or not anyone reads it. The very fact that you have a book gives you credibility that can help grow your business.

Content marketing is king. If you want to succeed today, you need to be visible, and you do this by putting out content related to your particular field.

A book is the best way to distribute content to your audience, as it carries much more weight than a blog post or an article. Unlike other forms of content, books have longevity, as they last forever.

Do you want to explode your business?

A book will help you do this. You can sign more clients, get speaking engagements, get funding, find a partner, and so much more. Having a book will separate you from the competition and open doors for you that you never knew existed. A book is the best investment you can make for your brand and your business.

    A little about me

I have been a professional writer for about ten years. When I started, I was a freelance writer working for a local research company, but I soon started my own freelance writing company and over the course of ten years turned it into an online company that has had seven figures in sales, backed by a skilled team of writers.

A few years ago I started publishing my own books and getting into business coaching because helping and learning from other entrepreneurs was my interest and passion. I soon realized that having published two books about business made people trust me, and I was easily able to get coaching clients just from the credibility of my books alone. Most of my clients didn’t actually read my books, but they knew I had written them, so they decided I must know what I’m talking about.

I told a mentor of mine two years ago how much my book had helped my business, and I suggested that he write one of his own.

He said, Michael, I’m not a writer.

I replied, You don’t need to be; in fact, you don’t need to write anything.

You don’t need to be a writer to write a book. You just need to be able to express your ideas through conversation.

I decided that if I just interviewed my mentor and recorded it I could write a book for him by using the transcripts from the interview. Wow!

I experimented with this approach and realized that I had discovered a formula that allows anybody to become a published author without actually having to write anything.

We all have something of value in our minds, but now you have a way to get it out that doesn’t involve staring at computer screen for hours and hours.

This discovery led to a pivot in my career. I wanted to take my existing experience and network in the writing field, using it to help other entrepreneurs, professionals, and leaders get their story published. My company Book Peacock was born.

When I was trying to come up with a name for my company, I wanted something that was bold.

If you look up the word peacock (verb) in the dictionary, the definition is literally, to be bold . . . and I knew I could have fun with the branding because peacocks (noun) are stunning animals. Peacocks are unique, and that’s what makes them so impressive.

Being different is everything these days. There is no better way to be different than to author a book and share what you’re all about with the world (or at least your clients and prospects).

Don’t you think having your own book for sale on Amazon and being able to give it away to anybody you wanted to impress would change your life?

A book is the most underutilized marketing tool in the world, and now is the time for you to become a published author.

In this book, I give you:

An overview of why you need a book. It’s not about making money from selling books. It’s about using a book as a marketing tool to grow your business and your brand. Very few authors make decent money off book sales, but a growing group of entrepreneurs, professionals, and leaders are making a ridiculous amount money by using the strategies outlined in this book.

The exact step-by-step process for writing your book without actually writing the book. Our process is based on dictation and transcription (speak the book, record it, transcribe it, and get someone else to write it). We show you exactly how to go from an idea to a published author without writing anything. This concept isn’t new, but the process I give you is revolutionary.

Everything else you need to know about being an author, from how to run a successful book launch to how to use press releases and books to get significant publicity for your business or brand. In essence, this is your toolbox to 10x your business with a book.

    Chapter 2

    Marketing 101

You are probably here because you’re trying to sell something—likely a product or a service. If this is the case, then YOU ARE A MARKETER.

Consumer behavior has changed a lot over the last few decades. The Internet didn’t exist twenty years ago, and consumers were much less informed than they are now. In today’s consumer landscape, buyers are very informed, and they do their research before they spend money. Consumers want to do business with people they have a relationship with, so they do their due diligence (on the Internet) and decide who they think is best suited to receive their hard-earned dollars.

Imagine if someone looks you up on Google to see if you’re credible and finds your book listed on Amazon, which shows that you
