a songwriter, but above all a storyteller. In her terrific autobiography, she describes her family's history, her growing up, her mistakes, successes, and lessons learned along the way.
I loved that this was about Jewel, the woman, and less about Jewel, the singer/songwriter. You can't have one without the other, but as the biography says, songs are only half the story.
