About this audiobook

How does a one-night stand turn into your fake girlfriend?

Senior year. I should be partying and living it up with my friends before graduation, but one more mistake and I’m off the team. Enter Chloe.

She comes into my life at a low point, but she becomes the bright spot I reach for every day.

She’s the kind of girl who makes a guy want to be a better man. And for a while, I even start to believe I’ve changed enough to deserve her.

I’ve got my eye on the future, and I’m letting my past stay where it belongs.

But the thing about the past… it always comes back to bite you when you least expect it.

This one wasn't my favourite. It definitely lacked in areas, and the characters just weren't hitting the mark. The story was cheesy as always and hit the mark for an NA romance, but it was missing something more.

It starts as a one night stand turned fake dating to friends to lovers.

Chloe initially offered to pay Nathan to date her so that she looks good in front of her new volleyball team after they've had their one night stand. Nathan accepts the offer because he needs money so that he can help his brother with Ice Hockey and not fall back into selling drugs.

I liked Nathan's character. He was very endearing and charismatic. It was easy to like Nathan and the feel for him with the struggles he's gone through. I wanted to feel the same way about Chloe, but she had a few times where she showed her spoilt ways, which wasn't a surprise since she came from such a privileged background. Chloe wasn't a heroine I could wamr towards, and it could have been because of the multiple, unreasonable excuses she came up with to not be with Nathan in a proper relationship. They weren't needed, and when she did decide, there wasn't much explanation or detail as to why she changed her mind.

I definitely wanted to see more character development because it was just scratching the surface. The first half of the book dragged, but the second half picked up a lot more. I love the series and the side characters, so I'll be reading the next couples book in the series.
