Author

Karla Sorensen

Karla Sorensen has been an avid reader her entire life, preferring stories with a happily-ever-after over just about any other kind. It doesn't take much to keep her happy...a book, a really big glass of wine, and at least thirty minutes of complete silence every day. She still keeps her toes in the world of health-care marketing, where she made her living pre-babies. Now she stays home, writing and mommy-ing full time. She currently resides with her husband and their two sons in Michigan.

Whoever narrated Bauer needs an award because I melted every time he spoke.

I adore this family and I get excited every time I read about them again in any capacity. Karla has a way of making all the family involved in one of the sibling's relationships without being overpowering. Bauer's character development in this was beautiful and I was cheering him on the whole way. I was cheering both of them on actually.

The winter setting with the close proximity in a cabin was elite. It ticked all my boxes on that front. I need to find myself locked in a cabin with a snowboarder after them few chapters. Reading each chapter made me more fall in love with them more and each chapter revealed a little bit more of each of themselves to each other. Claire also became more confident in herself as the story went on and defended herself when she needed to. She started to find her voice more without Lai.

I wanted more explicit spice, it did seem to miss that but the lead-up to it all was on point.
