Author

Karla Sorensen

Karla Sorensen has been an avid reader her entire life, preferring stories with a happily-ever-after over just about any other kind. It doesn't take much to keep her happy...a book, a really big glass of wine, and at least thirty minutes of complete silence every day. She still keeps her toes in the world of health-care marketing, where she made her living pre-babies. Now she stays home, writing and mommy-ing full time. She currently resides with her husband and their two sons in Michigan.

I had the hardest time not comparing the female narrator with the Voice that reads the words on TICTOK videos. Seriously!! It’s not a voice that should be reading romance. Nothing sexy or alluring about it.

I will have to read the book because I couldn’t make It past chapter 1. The female narrator sounded like a complete robot. Zero emotion. Very hard to listen to unfortunately.

Female reader sounded like a sports reporter. Did not like it. Not enough feeling in her voice to bring the different levels of feelings across. Male reader was simply beautiful and brought over all the levels of feelings as you would expect.
    Good story.

The girl narrating completely ruined this. I couldn't even make it through the first chapter. Horrible. She shouldn't be narrating romance.

I always love a Karla Sorensen book and this one did not disappoint.

I'm not a fan of the surprise pregnancy trope and I don't hide it but this one was done really well. I loved the chemistry between Lia and Jude with the added tropes of the age gap and sport. Their love story started out back to front but it works for them and they both complement each other so well. There are definitely some hurdles that they have to overcome but they manage to do this together after ironing out the bumps.

I love the Ward family and their relationship doesn't change with an ocean between them. It was great to see all the family so involved and really bring the sisters closer together which I didn't think was possible. Their relationship is so authentic and really added to Lia and Judes love story.
