About this audiobook

Less than twenty-four hours ago, I'd stood right here, wearing that dress, telling a boy I loved him.

Oh, how the mighty fell.

They betrayed me.

Three boys I thought I knew.

Leaving me with the one I thought I hated most.

It was him who carried my broken, beaten body. Him who cleaned my wounds and held me tight.

The prince to my princess.

Lies.

I won’t be that girl anymore. The one who fell for their smooth words and smoldering looks.

Colt is key to never being her again.

There’s still a killer on the loose.

Still a murder left unsolved.

Still three boys who own my heart.

But some dangerous little secrets are better left buried.

His is one of them.

This 2nd book meandered all around a bit and became a bit more unbelievable to me. It now had the additional criminal cat-and-mouse chase regarding Owen. It felt like this book continued to establish the 3rd relationship in Lacy’s harem, but seemed like it could be more believable if all 3 guys came out and said they were into open relationships or polyamory, which isn’t really addressed. Started to lose interest a bit but I’ll try to get with the 3rd book to see hear how things resolve regarding Lacy’s uncle’s murder and Owen.

Book 2 didnt hold back after where book 1 left off! We finally get some answers about what happened the day of the fire and we get more heart wrenching moments with Lacey and her guys. I felt it with Colt and his predicament, Rafe and his horrible dad, and Banjo and his evil and disgusting brother. I wanted to give all these guys a hug, they deserve a happily ever after after all of the things they have been through.

I also felt for Gillian finally, even if she was making a ton of poor decisions. Also hearing some of Aria's thoughts and learning more what happened put everything into perspective but also was not happy with how Lacey was treated. Loved seeing Lacey's best friends get along, loved getting to know the other side characters, loved the little Easter eggs the author dropped throughout the book. Overall really great paced and kept me glued to my scribd app so I could know what would happen next. Some of the twists I didnt see coming (like who was behind the random truck!) but it was good to get confirmation on who rescued Lacey from the fire. I wanted to shake Banjo and Rafe and Colt edged up to make me love all 3 guys equally (that never happens for me in RH romances haha). And the bomb dropped at the end was fabulous, glad this series is complete or I would have been like WHAAAAAAAT NOOOOO haha.

In terms of the narration, I thought these 2 did a fabulous job like in book 1. I have listened to both of them and they are both on my instant-listen lists. They both do a great job bringing these characters to life, especially Kasi. I thought the devastation, hurt, betrayal from both performances was palpable. The budding love and vulnerability was incredible between the group (and 2 of the 3 guys especially). 5/5 easily from me, already listened to book 3 in less than 2 days because I was so invested ❤️
