About this audiobook

He murdered my uncle then covered it with fire. A fire that should have killed me, too. Instead, he hauled me from the floor while flames licked the walls, strong arms holding me close. He saved my life.

Now I want to know why. I never saw his face. All I know is the letters on his shirt. SVH.

Saint View High.

The worst school in a hundred miles. Full of drugs and despair. Breeding ground for future criminals. Armed security guards and weapon checks at every door.

A far cry from my privileged life of money, private school, and fancy vacations.

With the police doing nothing, I take matters into my own hands. I enroll in a school I have no business being at.

But the Untouchables are quick to let me know exactly how big a mistake I’ve made. They’re the group of boys even the teachers are scared of.

Colt. Banjo. Rafe.

Every teenage girl’s dream. Good looking. Popular. Powerful.

And determined to break me.

Thing is, I’m not that easily broken. And I’m coming for them, too.

I really enjoyed this book and the story. The narrators were great as well.

First off I will say this narrator, Kasi Hollowell, is an instant listen from me! I fell for her performances a couple years ago when I listened to another bully RH series she had narrated. She does the push and pull so well with this trope and it was a fabulous decision to go with her for this one. I loved her perspective and her inflections, the angst and anger and sadness. I started this audiobook while at a work conference and thank goodness I was in my room or I would have cried in front of my peers. The anguish was so real in the beginning. The way she delivered her performance made me believe these characters were real. I loved the relationships and characterization both narrators helped mold and bring to life. Michael also did a great job with his POV chapters, I hope we get more from him in future books because he does these guys justice. In terms of the story, it wasn't anything new, a lot of RH bully romances have similar barebones (not saying this is a write off of someone else's story). All I mean is that the formula works for these bully romances so why diverge. Book 1 focuses on some of the guys getting close to the MC, there is a betrayal that ends in the cliffhanger. Book 2 then is them trying to make amends/the MC getting her revenge, etc. I enjoyed this one, it had some differences to others I have read so I appreciated that. I enjoyed the MC and loved her relationship with her new bestie from Saint View. Not a huge fan of the OG bestie, especially with what happens at the end of book 1 and the company they keep. I am so nervous about what is going to be revealed in book 2 because I have a bad feeling about it haha. I have my suspicions, can't wait to listen and see if I was right. I came to love our MC's aunt/mother figure, despite her pretentiousness and snobbiness. I think she had a good heart under all that privilege and really loves and cares about our leading lady. In terms of the guys. totally had a soft spot for Rafe. I feel so bad for his home life (I mean Banjo has an equally horrible family) and really enjoyed the steam in this one! Also the hints of other things brewing in this potential harem. Won't give anything away but looooooooved it and hope we get more in book 2 after the amends are made in book 2. I also am waiting to see how Colt worms his way in haha. I know he has made decisions to help Lacey but I hate him and Jillian so much. I can't wait til that implodes. Also the voyeurism hinted at in this book was ???. Ok enough ranting from me. I loved it and already am listening to book 2 and am devouring it (but don't want it to end!!). Love there are spinoffs from this world already on audio, so many to catch-up on. Thanks goodness its the holidays and I have all this time to listen ?

Although it was a little unbelievable that this high school student would transfer from a private school to a public school with a snobby guardian to find her uncle’s killer, the unfolding of her relationships there and new life at a new school was interesting. I enjoyed that this book had some mystery and wondered where her attraction to several guys was going to lead however I didn’t anticipate it would be a noncommittal 3 some with 2 of the guys and forgot that it was supposed to be a reverse harem book. The 2 guys she gets involved with don’t seem to be jealous or competitive about sharing and honestly it would have made it a bit more addictive of a read if it had turned into a love triangle. Anyway, interested to see where the next book goes and how Colt ties into everything.

    Spoiler and Trigger Warning:
A segment of the book I thought could have been more clear was her interaction with Owen and being drugged. There’s a point in the book where someone roofies her drink and the description makes it sound like her friend Owen takes advantage of her but it’s kept vague until the end where he’s forcing himself on her at her birthday party. Triggers for rape/attempted rape as the book seems to leave off there.
