Fallon Long is just about to lose the Cannoodle Cove Cabins where she spent summers with her grandparents and fell in love with the town of Cannoodle. After her grandmother's death, Fallon's grandfather, Sully, is diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and she fears that the loss of the Cabins will be the end of him. She is determined to renovate the Cabins and make a go of it, but her lack of skills has made that almost impossible. Sawyer is running from the temper tantrum he threw during the wedding of his best friend and his ex-girlfriend. The video of the blow-up has gone viral, and now all Sawyer wants to do is hide out, leaving the world behind him, but an unexpected encounter with Sully changes his view of what the rest of his life could look like.Runaway Groomsman is a fun romance with some serious moments that add depth to the story. Both Fallon and Sawyer are easy to like and unique supporting characters elevate this cute rom-com. While the romance is definitely slow burn, it never seems to drag and all the events of the story seem important to the plot and development of the characters. However, the last few chapters of the book do get a little frustrating, and the third act conflict comes across as a bit contrived. Overall, though, Runaway Groomsman is a very entertaining story that keeps the reader engaged right up to the very end.
